Horrible. To have any chance of having them completed by 4/15. you need to have them in by 2/21. Had them in 2 years ago with all information summarized as requested by 3/12 ( 2 days after their date to have it by 4/15) and completed taxes were not available until June (and if i hadn't kept callling probably later). Last year had them in by 3/3 with all information summarized (7 days prior to their deadline to have it by 4/15) and they were not completed until August (again, probably would not have had them back then if i hadn't called them to see where they were. And they couldn't efile them last year. Further delaying stuff. Called them around 4/10 last year and results were way off. All they had to do was look at the previous years return and they could have found the problem. But I had to find it and correct them. Ohh. And their bill went up $300 dollars.

This is in response to the review posted my Mike Gunderman. The first word used by Mr. Gunderman is “Horrible”. What is horrible is this gentleman’s lack of understanding, consideration and acknowledgement of prevailing circumstances. Moreover, his lack of communication skills has apparently contributed to his flawed conclusions. In my wish for brevity I will only address the last year Mr. Gunderman was a client which was during calendar year 2016. I personally have never met Mr. Gunderman and my contact with him was limited to email communications. Some background information: On January 20th a senior company employee of 37-years suddenly died. January was the very beginning of our 2016 tax season and this particular employee played a pivotal role in every aspect of our practice including providing services to Mr. Gunderman. Since this key employee exclusively handled many client accounts of various types for the firm, her sudden passing had a devastating affect. Then, a few months after the death of our key employee, I had open-heart surgery and was out of work for approximately two months. This misfortune added to an already unrealistic professional business model, which suggests that CPAs complete twelve months of tax preparation services in a period of two and one-half months. Mr. Gunderman states “And they couldn’t efile them last year”. Tax returns were not being e-filed during my hospital stay and recovery period, because this was the sole function of my deceased employee and me. Mr. Gunderman states “and results way off”. Apparently Mr. Gunderman didn’t like his tax outcome, but the results were accurate. Mr. Gunderman states “I had to find them and correct them”. Not true. The returns that were sent to Mr. Gunderman were prepared properly and did not need correction. Obviously, Mr. Gunderman not being a CPA would not have the professional qualifications or knowledge to find and correct errors on a tax return that he could not prepare himself, which is why he engaged my firm.
