My husband and I went to Robert’s Block for the first time last night to celebrate my birthday. It was an absolutely fabulous experience. The atmosphere is fun and lively without being too loud. Service was quick and our server was so so friendly. I wish I remember his name, but he said “awesome sauce” at least two dozen times and I loved him for it. I had the duck and it was mind blowing. My husband got the pork chop and loved it. Since it was my birthday, the waiter brought out some complimentary ice cream and sang to me discreetly, not like Applebees and it was so sweet. We will absolutely be returning again. It was perfect.
**Food- had a Glenside Burger with a Cesar side salad. - it was good but zero seasoning, so that was very disappointing. Patty had no flavor! I did ask the server if she could ask the cook to season it too.. ‍ adding salt after its cooked, it's not the same. Cooked to the temperature I requested, which is not always the case everywhere. Thanks for that! **Service- bar area... slow. Sunday night and it was not busy **Atmosphere- great! Very nice bar amd seating area. Outdoor section available as well.
The wait staff was accommodating for our party, and once seated our service was fantastic. There is a variety of mixed drinks and beers to choose from, with a solid food menu. Stick with some sandwiches and burgers, or ipt for larger plates like duck and steak. Parking: The station near by does have parking, closer by there are permit numbers in spots, so wasn't sure if those could have been used for patrons. Additional paid and free street parking fairly close by.
Went with a group of friends and family post- wedding bar crawl. The staff was friendly and on point. The food was delicious. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share, everything was fantastic. Will definitely make it a stop on my trips to the area.Food: 5/5
Great service and tasty food. Our Server, Billy, was excellent. My Hubs needs gluten-free, and there were plenty of choices. We will be back!
This place has flavorless, expensive food. I got a crab cake on a salad. The arugula in my salad was yellow and smashed into the bowl as though there were a stack of bowls premade in the fridge for a week. The ARUGULA had no flavor. It was supposed to come with feta but they put blue cheese on it the only horrible taste the whole dish had. It was an apple salad and the apples were soft as though they had been boiled or rehydrated or something. The candied nuts were mushy again confirming my suspicion it’s premade in the fridge for the week. The crab cake somehow tasted like nothing not even crab. My dad’s risotto had no seasoning at all so it was a blob of mush at the bottom of his plate. My moms ribs came out on this tiny plate with the ribs stacked on top of all the fries to the point where she couldn’t get them without eating half a rack of ribs. I’ve had left overs that friends shared with me and it was the same flavorless mush that I experienced at the restaurant. It’s obvious this chef does not seek good ingredients nor do they know how to season food. The only reason it has a good rating is the atmosphere is nice. I recommend this as a good bar. Great service and atmosphere, just HORRIBLE food.
We visited on a Saturday night before a popular act at The Keswick. It was busy inside, but still nice enough to sit outside with no wait. Our server, Tim, rocks a short mohawk and was super attentive and helpful with menu choices. I am glad we stopped in!Food: 5/5
had a great waitress victoria! happy hour food was good. we got the brussel sprouts, pierogies, and truffle fries. cocktails were good. the brownie dessert was amazing so chewy and warm. Parking: hard to find parking
A lovely location with outdoor & indoor service along the Schuylkill River near Manayunk Philadelphia. When the weather is nice, I encourage you to get an outside table and bring the kids. There's a large area adjacent for Cornhole, and other games we all love. You can order your beer and wine from a kiosk near your table. A wide variety of food for all tastes and appetites. Plenty of Free parking and a paved trail along the River is part of the complex. Want to stay the night? Residence Inn is attached. Regal Movie theater and Main Street Night life is a short walk across the bridge by the Hotel. Kid-friendliness: There's a big area where kids can play games like Cornhole, etc. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking is accessible as are all parts of the restaurant. The adjacent trail along the Schuylkill River is paved.
I don't have pictures, but I will be posting photos in the future. However picture this, picture a place that you go to and it's fun to be there the food is good and everyone is friendly. It's very clean bathrooms are clean, and the service is impeccable. The view of the train station right there around you makes it yet more interesting. There is plenty of parking space. This place should be on the top of your list to go to bartender. Jenny is amazing with blazing beauty and entertaining.
