I've been here a few times - 1st time when I was young and it was just like in olden times back then with the wood stove and a bunch of old men there shooting the breeze. Last few times though it was a candy store and they would sometimes have kids come from schools to go there. Kind of a neat place. Rockford interesting town also as across street from general store is what is left after some buildings burned down may have been an old hotel. There is an old train station near the river. Some of my ancestors are buried here in the graveyard somewhere where I've never been but seen pictures of their graves on the internet. I got a neat old kinda book thing that a local resident wrote at that general store that I still have that mentions lot of the people in Surry County - funny I think I'm related in some way or another to almost everyone in that county -

Beautiful old building. Helpful friendly people working there and the food is great. It is a historical landmark. Go and check it out.

Quaint little store. Great sadwitches. Can buy candy loose and bottled soda like old country store.
