I called the non-emergency number after hearing a series of what sounded like gunshots or fireworks (well within the city limits). The woman who answered was very professional, especially considering I called close to midnight. She said she would send an officer to patrol the area and within ten minutes there was a police car driving past. 10/10 for professionalism and response time.

I have had multiple run-ins with maleficent drivers as I drive 250mi/day and 1250mi/week. Each time the local PD became involved, I was treated with a bi partisan equanimity that I previously have not experienced with any other PD. These men and women bring honor to the badge which my uncle holds dearly as the chief of police. To all those honorable police people reading this review - thank you for treating me like a human. It means more than you know. 8/2017 - $150 for little things that everyone does once in a while (no seatbelt, no full stop, not turn signal, etc) is enough money to feed a person for a minimum 2 weeks.... this disproportionately affects those at the bottom half of the economy whom spend nearly all of their money on cost of living alone, for what? To pay for more police that need to write more tickets.... the cycle must end. PD funding shouldn't be coming from citizens' pockets. Only -1 star bc the problem extends beyond Rockwall.

Rockwall Officer Collier is a liar and he knows it. If he'll treat a White, Professional, Veteran this way, imagine how he'll treat African Americans who come to Rockwall. Do not trust this Police Department. I knew Officer Collier was lying, he knew he was lying....and yet, due to his pride he wrote a ticket anyway. I will be starting an awareness campaign in Rockwall to educate locals about abuse I have experienced. Total garbage #takeoutthetrash #collieristrash #boycottrockwall

I have never had a more pleasant experience with any local/state/federal law enforcement or government agency. The officers are pleasant and professional, courteous and diligent. I see them everywhere, but never feel threatened by them. They have shown up when we've needed them, and have never done anything to us that overstepped their authority. Their response time is nothing short of stellar. We had our alarm go off and less than 2 minutes later there were two officers at the door checking on us. My first experience with RPD was as positive as it could get. When we first moved here, we got lost trying to return the U Haul at 2am. A police officer pulled us over to check on us, as he'd seen us a few times. We asked him if he had any idea where the place was for us to return the truck, and he not only provided us with directions, he basically said, "follow me," and took us there. I also got a ticket for an expired sticker once. The officer was courteous and professional, and told me how to get the ticket resolved quickly. I showed up to the administration building and the staff promptly took care of the issue with minimal hassle. I had a third run-in with RPD when a "concerned" citizen reported me for something they (the citizen) had no business in, but the officer nevertheless responded quickly and took care of the situation. No unpleasantness, no lack of courtesy/respect--simply an explanation, a ticket, and how to get it resolved. I went to court, where I explained the situation to the judge, and got it resolved once again with very little hassle. Courteous, understanding, and professional. I've also never seen a bailiff with a better attitude. I have more stories about RPD, but every single one of them is positive. I have seen them help the community and prove time and again that they are here to protect and serve. This is the place I've lived where I'm actually proud to say that this is MY police department. I hope they never change. Not one bit.

This is just in response to the user who made the other review complaining about speeding tickets. You are a dim witted idiot. More felony arrests are found and made during traffic stops than at any other time. Imagine you're a police officer and you flag someone for speeding you attempt to pull them over and they run. When you catch them you find the 8 year old girl on the Amber Alert in the car with her kidnapper. Quit complaining about officers doing their job. They do it for more reasons than just writing you a ticket... and slow down. Speeding means more likely to get in an accident and guess who has to respond and scrape your brains off the street... That's right... the officers. Thank you Rockwall PD. I see y'all everywhere on patrol when I go out and for that reason I feel safer.
