Roe Seafood on 2nd St must be one of the most underrated restaurants in Long Beach. We enjoyed the high-quality offerings at this place. Enjoyed the lively vibes, and atmosphere. The servers are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was not crowded or loud considering it is 2nd street. The prices are reasonable.
Beautiful little place and the food was great but they're stingy with the seafood. We had the ceviche and coconut milk appetizer -little but wonderful, a salad that was whatever, the sea bass which was good but the pave potatoes on the side outshined the fish, The cioppino was lovely but it had one shrimp a handful of clams in the shell and a couple little chunks of fish. First time I've ordered cioppino and not brought half of it home, And I was really looking forward to something hearty. So two entrees, an appetizer and a salad and we were still was polishing off the bread. Don't skip lunch If you're coming here for dinner! My cocktail which I was hoping would be a rich pina colada on the rocks was cloyingly sweet but made for a decent dessert. It's dog friendly and has great ambiance so I might be back for happy hour or something.
Everything was delicious! Parking was a little rough but we found some street parking in the residential area behind the restaurant. 10/10 would recommend if you like seafood. We had the spicy steamers starters, the sea bass and the black squid ink linguine.Food: 5/5
An absolute delight! The fusion of flavors in every dish is a testament to the chef's mastery. Attentive service, coupled with a cozy atmosphere, makes it a memorable dining destination.Food: 5/5
Nice restaurant! Great customer service. We enjoyed the sea bass.
Happy Hour Mon-Fri 3-6pm mostly under $13. Food was alright! Prices are fair.Food: 3/5
We were there at 5 pm on a Saturday and got sat pretty quickly. The inside of the restaurant is really pretty. I would recommend parking in the public parking lot a little down the way. The food and service were great. We ordered the poke nachos, fish and chips, the Mexican grilled shrimp, and two cocktails. The poke nachos weren't on the menu but we had seen a lot of pictures online and asked if they were still serving them and they were. Definitely recommend this place. Lots of places to walk around afterward.
Primary criteria, freshness. Second, perfectly cooked. Well made items that impresses, check. Good ambience, check. Good service, check. The sashimi is perfectly fresh and cut well. The fisherman stew ingredients are perfectly cooked, not under not over. The chef slightly undersalted the stew so that it compliments the lightly salted baguette that accompanies it. Very well done. Cerviche is good with the baked tortillas, would be better with smaller chips but no complaints here. Scallops freshness can be tasted from the sweetness. Oysters are great. Perfect afternoon snack! Good fusion of Peruvian and Japanese in a California style seafood restaurant. There's a counter-served fish market next door for to-gos and self service dining if one needs a quickie meal.
The food here was pretty good. Had the poke ceviche, clam chowder & mini crab croquettes for starters, then ordered the sea bass & clam pasta for mains & even had ti-roe-misu for dessert. Husband & I enjoyed everything except the clam pasta, however since we didn’t eat it our server was gracious enough to take it off. Definitely will be back & 10/10 recommend.
This is the best food in all of Long Beach! Everything we ate was absolutely worth coming back for. The drinks are really great too!! Service is top notchFood: 5/5
