Very pleasant walk. There are different sections and things to see. I've visited both day and night. I think I enjoyed nighttime better. Lighted humidifier. A water fountain area that I think is set to music and is lighted. There is even a carousel . Chairs available to sit . Garden was nice. If you are in the area, check it out! Update: September 2022; Still a great place to visit! Thanks to the Boston/Massachusetts tax payers for this beautiful park ! Playground: No playground available. There is a carousel that is open for three out of four seasons of the year. There is also a huge fountain that kids can play in when it's hot. Restrooms: I'm not sure if the information ℹ building has a restroom. The Boston Harbor Garage has one. Dog-friendliness: I believe pets are allowed but must be leashed. Picnic area: I don't remember seeing a picnic table, but, there are benches and you can spread a blanket out on the lawn. There are restaurants surrounding the Greenway and there is a small restaurant and food truck located on the Greenway as well.
I love going to this Greenway. It’s centrally located for a good time: To one side is the North End Little Italy and to the other side Boston Public Market and Union Oyster House. You’re also less than a half-mile from the Wharf and Aquarium. This greenway is great for: kids, families, friends, couples and if you’re doing a meetup group. They have splash zones for the kids, and you’ll see students and picnickers everyday. The Views: The trees and flowers are well kept and beautiful. It has a nice view of the old historical parts of Boston as well as the skyline. The park is safe from 7am till 9pm. I haven’t visited outside those hours so I can’t make any claims. But generally speaking it’s well-lit and there are plenty of people including park maintenance and police/rangers.
A wonderful oasis of trees, flowers, mini gardens and outdoor art works in downtown Boston right next to South Station. This is a beautiful respite for the weary bus and train travelers with a stop-over in Boston, visitors to the Boston Harbor area and all the hard-working people in the downtown district. The Greenway Park meanders from South Station to the Aquarium and the North End. It is intricately designed so that many mini gardens open up within the park. Outdoor sculptures and murals add an exciting touch to the many unique areas marked by blocks of granite, stone steps or mini plazas. Truly a gem and a beautiful addition to the Boston Harbor neighborhood.
I would come here every Sunday after church with coffee in hand to enjoy the public art installations. The Greenway doesn't disappoint and it's one of the best low-budget, big-impact date spots. #WorthIt
Beautiful green and public space for residents! Little ones can enjoy the fountains or just have a nice lay on the grass with a stunning view of the city skyline. Or take a swing on their swing chairs.
Easily spend the day there walking around the Green way , go for a boat ride , get anything too eat at Quincy market , Street performers , High-end shops , photos opportunity all over , haven a good time cost money - so bring some an enjoy
Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy art, bird's & sometimes rabbits & turkeys. Beautiful flowers all around the Greenway.
In the former shadow of the elevated highway now grows this modern classic tradition of public green space. Take a swing, pull up a chair, walk along the paths, a true gem.
Nice park to walk around and watching the kids play with the water
If you're looking to relax in the midst of the city, this is a great spot to do so. When we visited, there were plenty of chairs around to sit down and relax, people playing with their pets and kids and a near by outdoor beer patio set up that played great jams. All while being surrounded by some skyscrapers. We enjoyed our break here from the "get to know the city" walk.
