We're a public library extraordinaire located in our original 1904 building in Galveston, Texas. The Moody Wing opened in 1971 more than doubling the floor space. From the start the library included a children's department, history center and museum.

The history and architecture of this place are second to none in Texas as far as I'm concerned. As a library it's pretty nice. If you're looking to do research about the island this would be the ideal place to do so. Only problem is it tends to be a hotspot for homeless people. Wouldn't be surprised if you caught a guy washing himself from the sink in the bathrooms.

We have the best library!! I love  everything about it. The children's center & awesome programs, the museum, the vast amount of books, CDs & DVDs are all so amazing. Thank you for being a great contribution to our community💜

Awesome Library- I just suggested an edit for the hours, hopefully someone sees it! They're now open from 9AM to 9PM on Mon-Thurs, which is think is awesome for a learning center to increase their hours!

Just in town visiting. I must say that this is the nicest children's department I've seen in a while. Not the biggest, but the cleanest and best organized. Great lighting.
