Founded in the 1940s, the Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science has grown into one of the world’s premier marine and atmospheric research institutions. One of the few structures on Bear Cut it has a truly beautiful view of the baby as well as the bridge. Be sure not to step foot on their dock or security will either very inform you that it is private property and politely ask you to leave or attempt to verbally handcuff you and await the police. You would think that a Campus dedicated to education of the natural resources we have would proctor someone politely and quietly enjoying the nature however do not attempt to enjoy any of the natural wonders Bear Cut has to offer anywhere near this place or they will call MDPD and depending on your luck have you charged with trespassing, loitering, criminal mischief, and prowling despite your good relationships with the security guards and various professors however MDPD has good judgement and will only trespass you off of the UM Campus. Its a shame when you have never left any trash, even thrown away bottles that have washed up, respected everyone and everything, learned all of the security guards names and made good relations with them all over two years, that the head of security, a rogue Rambo with a chip on his shoulder against fishermen would persecute you as a threat to society.
