The entrance sign is 'The Kennebec Highlands.'  This is a nice 5 mile loop with a 600 rise, nothing technical or that would cause you to get on your hands and knees. There are two nice overlooks of the Belgrade lakes. The trail is well marked with blue blazes.

For only being 4.5 miles, this hike has a nice variety of land formations. The view of all the Belgrade Lakes is worth the hike. Just make sure you dont miss the trail sign on your way back. There are some trail intersections.

Been hiking and mountain biking the Kennebec Highlands for 50 years. Beautiful country. All trails are great. Support the conservancy for their efforts.

If you love unmarked trails, getting lost, and accidentally forging your own adventure while making memories with people that are just on the verge of panic because no one knows where you are - I'd highly recommend this trail!
