I tend to only come here for the meat, which is excellent, but the more mundane regular purchase items are not at too much of a premium. Overall, the store is always clean and the staff are always ready to answer questions or help you find something. Glad they have made such a push into the market.

The items are often not priced as advertised and a lot of the employees are incompetent. Prairieville location.

Well, as most people in Prairieville already know, Rouses bought this store and then systematically ruined it.  Before they came in, it was a great store with lots of quality products and employees that were helpful and friendly.

It seems that most of the employees that worked there when it was still owned and ran by the Leblanc family, no longer work there. 
Most of the employees that do work there are not always helpful.  When there is a problem, they usually blame management.  I was told that all of the employees are getting paid less than when it was still Leblancs, so their lackadaisical approach to customer service seems justified.

There is much more that I could type out in this review, but I would run out of characters.  I will just close with I have bought two items there this this year that had gone bad.  One of the items was a spoiled roast and the other was stale donuts.  I didn't return either because it would have been a hassle at the time.

I'll close with this.  I completely stopped shopping at Walmart almost two years ago because they treat their employees like dirt and exploit workers is third world countries.  With that said, that new Walmart on side of Rouses is looking pretty tempting.  Im not going to do it though.  I am going to shop at Ralphs - which is also problematic - until I hear that Rouses got their act together.   Though I'm not holding my breath.
