Even though the food is good, it was slow there. We had a waitress and she waited an hour (not being sarcastic here) just to give us the CHECK!! It was also a cash only place so it is not a recommendation of mine

Building was cold
They charged $1 to share a meal which I thought was dumb
Syrup tasted more like water. 
Cream was just sitting on all the tables getting warm
None of the 3 of us finished our food...  and I usually eat EVERYTHING 
Place wasn’t packed either.

The food portion was average, cooked as requested. There was a situation with a teen couple. The girl told the waitress her food was cold. The waitress asked "why did you wait so long to tell me". The girl stated she had been trying to get the waitress attention but was never able too. The restaurant refused to give her a new plate of food. There were six tables with people eating. The restaurant floor layout is in the shape of an L. The young couple were sitting at the base of the L the kitchen is located at the top of the L.   The one waitress was the only one working the floor. For this season I give 3 stars. I feel they could have given the girl a hot plate of food. Instead the girl was embarrassed.

Im an employee here at Rt 38 cafe, and i can say i eat here everyday. The food is the best, the vibe is classic and calming and all the staff are as close as family can get. You wont regret coming down and enjoying a cup of coffee and some breakfast. Hope to see some of you soon!!!

All of the prices I was charged were different from what was on the menu. Somehow it came out to an even $20.00 (with tax) when it wouldn't even be that much with the inflated prices. On the receipt it said real syrup was $4 when the sign on the wall said $2. Unsurprisingly there was no customer copy of the receipt.
