The fried mushrooms were some of the best we ever had! The rest of the food was good but the menu could use some work maybe some pictures or better descriptions I got pasta as a side and while it looked amazing it had olives and I'm allergic so I gave it to my husband. The service was a little slow took awhile to get drinks and menus.

Nice atmosphere. Good choices of brews. We ate earlier so we didn't order anything,but the menu looked impressive. The servers were very pleasant and attentive.

Well we went in at 1, placed an order and didn't get the order till 1:45. We ordered a burger rare and you couldn't find any pink in it at all. However the burger was rather good anyways. Also got the "3mini dogs" and they come with green chili and cheese on them. Well... The green chili was bland and the so called cheese was some pouder mixture that was so runny and grainy that I couldn't eat the second and 3rd dog. On top of it the side I chosen was steak fries and I got 6 of them. 6. And of course they were covered in the "cheese" too. We told the waitress about the meal but wouldn't give it back because it took so long to come out in the first place! Not a place we are going back to. Very disappointed as this place used to be really good.

Great beer selection. I visited here one evening a couple weeks back and really enjoyed the various micro brews they stock. This was one of the last stops on a nearly 4 week tour and this place had the best beer selection of any bar on the trip, hands down. Though they are now just a tap house, they are doing it right by their diverse and top choice selections. I really wish I hadn't eaten before arriving there because they also had the most awesome looking menu I had seen on the entire trip. After talking substantially to the owner and learning of his meat cooking techniques, I am convinced he knows how to do it. I raise all my own meats and know how to cook them, so it was nice to hear about his methods before I told him what I do. Another bonus, they have a buy 5, get the 6th beer free! This is also the coolest looking place on my tour, with a truly awesome old style saloon long bar and back wall. I highly recommend checking it out. And no, I received no compensation or incentive for this review and was not even asked to give it. I do reviews extremely rarely and just thought this place needs to be found out about.

I wish ZERO stars was a choice. Why, you ask, well Royal Gorge Taphouse is CLOSED! According to the sign on the door, they closed at 4 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2018. There is NO posted date of re-opening. It would be nice if this info was posted to the Royal George Taphouse website, so tourists like me would not waste time visiting a closed establishment!
