If you’re in Westport and are looking for a place to eat, I’d pass on Rye Ridge Deli. We ordered in and the first thing I noticed is that the utensils were dirty. We should have left immediately. It was quiet and the two sandwiches we ordered took a long time to come out. We don’t mind waiting for food, but only if it’s good. When the food came, the plates were not clean. Visible finger prints and grease were left on the plates. The sandwiches were sub-par and over priced. The coffee was burnt and the mug it came in wasn’t clean either. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately I can’t recommend this place. We should have left after discovering the dirty utensils. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but if an establishment can’t keep its dinnerware clean, that’s a real problem.
Don't order the chicken salad. It claims all white meat. Not true. My sandwich had 25% dark meat and very little taste. It took forever for a salad and a sandwich and I was there at 11AM. Not busy.
It cost $18 for an average tasting bagel with lox and cream cheese before tax. Prices aren’t posted so you don’t know until you pay. I would not recommend.
Ugh. Golds was closed and I was desperate for a bagel. First, it was $2.50. Absurd. Second, it was cinnamon raisin and tasted like onion. And dry. The. Worst. Bring by Oscar’s. Please.
Overpriced even by Westport standards. Even a candy bar of Snickers cost $4.29. The lady at the cashier has the personality and warmth of a fire hydrant in the Winter. Seek your pleasure somewhere else.
Definitely not the best in town... i saw the note and thought it will be okay, but not really. I recommend the Owner to read the reviews and do something as they will loose customers if it is going this way. And for sure i don't recommend this place. Service is slow and they don't know how to serve - the waiter arrived at our table and forgot what he has to ask 'Water maybe ?, we said.. We had 4 different waiters Food: quantity is okay the star but quality... no taste in the Chef Salad - boring... and the Sandwich was not tasty neither... boring...
After spending over $100 this is the knish I received an d also ordered 2 franks knish with side of pastrami..no pastrami Someone should be watching what’s being sent out. I bet you wouldn’t server this to a family member. Marianne D
Good place to grab breakfast or lunch. The food is made fresh to order. The staff and service are friendly and accommodating. You can either order at the counter or have table service inside and outside. Nice place...worth a visit.
This deli should NOT BE IN BUSINESS !!! The people who work here, in every capacity, are rude, indifferent and incompetent. They have destroyed what was once a fabulous deli and gathering place as the famed Oscars. Do the public a favor: close the deli, go away, and let someone who really cares about being in business and serving the public with grace and gratitude take over.
Food is really good. They have all different types of food. I tried the special they had and it was great. Tuna melt served on a multigrain bread with avocado and sweet potato fries. More than filling and worth every dollar spent.
