I attended this church regularly for about five years and most of that time I did not have anything to complain about. Then I had a truly disturbing experience with an older woman who was appointed by the pastor as a kind of "resident therapist" at the parish. He gave her a free office on parish property. In the bulletin she advertised herself as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). The pastor referred me and my husband as well as other members of the parish to her with enthusiastic recommendations. We met with her for one session and were not impressed. She charged us 20 dollars for the session which was her lowest rate. Another person I spoke with was charged 40 dollars. For around seven years, this woman met with clients at the church. I noticed that she saw clients several times per week sometimes. I heard other people had bad experiences with her as well, so I decided to look up her credentials. It turned out that she was NEVER licensed to practice therapy in Alabama. I brought the matter to the attention of the diocese of Birmingham and no action was taken. So I reported her to the licensing board, and they immediately fined her and ordered her to cease practicing therapy. They also informed me that the pastor knew that she was not licensed! I was deeply disappointed to learn of this since he seemed like the kind of pastor who did things by the book. After that and the following incident I stopped attending this church. There was an occasion in which I and a friend were accosted by her husband and she screamed at me in a rage. She also left some bizarre and hysterical messages on my phone. I did not feel safe attending that church any more after that. This should never have happened at a Catholic church or in any Christian faith community for that matter. She probably did a lot of damage to people who saw her seeking psychological help.

This had been my church for 35 yrs. My youngest son was baptized there and all my children made the first communion there. My first grandchild made her first communion there also. To me it is home with my church family .

Great church! Was only there for 5 months before we had to move out of state but in that time the new Padre and the staff were very friendly in informing us the church times and events. We felt welcomed to this BEAUTIFUL church. Reminded me of Mexico! The sermons were greatly inspiring! Loved this church.
