It was our first time here. From the moment we walked in, we were kindly greeted and sat. Immediately we had smiles in our faces and side dishes at our table. The menu was explained in detail, with patience, and everything about the service here was top tier. The food was exceptional. Most of it was very authentic, just like mom's cooking. My husband enjoyed dishes he had never tried and the entire experience was just a wonderful way to end our night. We will definitely be back.
K O R E A N • B B Q Add Saemaeul old C Grill space to your ever growing list of places to try but move it to the top and go! Friends and I ordered the XL mixed combo, an order of pork jowl, and scallion pancake and it comfortably fed us 6. Y’all, you wouldn’t think a scallion pancake would wow us but it was the best I’ve had around Dallas. It doesn’t have that “frozen” packaged taste. The quality of meats were ‍. Marinated meats were not overly sweet and the non-marinated meats had amazing beef flavor
We came at around 6 pm on a Wednesday and on top of having quality meat selection and amazing side dishes, our server Jenny was super friendly, professional and amazing at her job. We got the beef combo for 2 people, kimchijigae, steamed egg with cheese and corn, won soju and soda. With tip, everything was around ~$160. We came out SA.TIS.FIED. Thank you to the rest of the staff here as well for an amazing delicious and efficient experience! We'll definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality KBBQ and service !
Second time here and they raised the prices on an already expensive menu. Would not recommend the marinated boneless short ribs, you can really tell the difference in quality compared to the unmarinated version. We didn't get the combo since we didn't like all of the cuts of meat last time. You don't get soup included if you don't get the combo. Crazy that you pay $200 before tip for 3 orders of meat and they can't even spare you some soup. If you go towards the back where the restrooms are, it smells like sewage. I would not go in the middle of your meal unless you want to lose your appetite.
Really Wanna try this new place and compare to my other favorite bbq places . You have to self enter your name on waiting list once you enter. It wasn’t a long wait on a Friday night. Services was great and the banchan looks fresh and delicious . The meats can be on the pricy side but it’s worth it . The rice ball was also amazing where you can make your own . It was a satisfying meals with friends and would come back again .
The meat quality was better than I expected! They're definitely not on the cheap side, but the combo is worth it. I would recommend getting the combo. I wish the service was better, but it's probably because they just opened. I would come here again on special occasions.Food: 5/5
Another famous Korean Franchise has come to Texas by Mr Paik! The meat quality is really high with everything just melting in your mouth. The side dishes are plentiful with a nice variety of different veggies and soups. The famous dish here is the pork kimchi mix where you get a reduced kimchi pork stew that you mix with rice. The tangyness of the kimchi and pork mixes well with the fluffy white rice. All in all, I'd say this is good competition for ari down the street, with Saemaeul being the better choice if you want a more classic korean-esque kbbq Vegetarian options: Dwaenjang soup
Staffs were kind and table was clean. We ordered bulgogies, egg bombs and rice balls. Foods were americanized so it was not good as I expected as a Korean. Overall they were too salty too me.. Another thing I was also disappointed was they wiped the uncooked sauce bowl with the cooked bulgogies at the end which really made me feel unsafe… I hope they don’t do that next time and let customers take care of the foods.
We went during soft opening with a reservation so there was no wait, and the restaurant was not busy. Parking is shared with various other restaurants and establishments so I imagine it would be difficult to find parking spaces on the weekends. The place was relatively small and felt like it would be extremely crowded if the restaurant was even at half capacity. Especially if you are seated at one of the booths, you would be right next to another party because there’s no room. Also, the stools that they use are not the most comfortable to enjoy a meal with. They remind me of Korean pubs around the area and not a sit-down restaurant where you’re trying to have dinner with your friends or family. Our server was good and attentive. The food was high quality and the meat melted in your mouth. The side dishes are similar to what you would find at other places, however the kimchi was really good. We got the XL Beef Special Combo. I slightly preferred the marinated boneless short ribs over the unmarinated, but both were good. I would also recommend getting the sirloin. I did not like the beef finger ribs or the back neck of pork and those are usually my favorites at KBBQ places. The pricing was extremely expensive for a Korean BBQ place located in Carrollton. I’ve been to Baekjeong in New York and paid a similar price. I felt like I was paying New York prices in Carrollton. Overall, I wouldn’t come back unless there was a special occasion.
My new local favorite for a la carte Korean bbq. The vibe feels very traditional with the round tables and stools. The service has been fast and attentive the both times I have been there. The menu is very well crafted and aesthetic with many photos. The side dishes are great and they give variety considering it's a bbq focused restaurant. They have small combo options and large combo options. My boyfriend and I have big appetites and the small combo feeds us just right. The meat quality is very good and they like to grill the meat for you. The marinade on their marinated meat options are amazing. Not too sweet, subtle, and light seasoning just like how they do it in Korea. It's not overly heavy, soy sauce-y and sweet like most Korean bbq places around here. What also stands out to me of this place in comparison to other local a la carte Korean bbq Ari, gui gui, etc. is their kimchi soup and soybean stew. Amazing. Kimchi stew is spicy and has so much flavor. Soybean stew is full of veggies and tofu and flavor. I'm a big soup/stew lover so this is a big plus for me. Most bbq places do not nearly put as much thought in to their side dishes and soups as this place. Also as an appetizer, they give you seaweed soup which is uncommon but great. I highly recommend saemaeul kbbq.
