People bagging your carefully selected items should remember that you took time to choose your products so tossing yogurts in on top of tomatoes and dropping salad dressing bottles on top of your berries is not necessary or helpful. Just a little thought to what they are doing can change the entire experience. To be fair I don't regularly shop here and likely won't, I was with someone else so did pick up a few things. I've followed the store trying to offer more organic and local products; people who want that care how their items are handled.

I love our Safeway. The manger specials get me through the month. All though they hardly ever have enough checkers,  the checkers are always fast friendly and efficient. I love the well stocked deli and fresh hot soups. The employees of Safeway are so wonderful that it really makes up for the lack of checkers available.

A large variety of items for grocery shopping however, not for those only looking for one or two items and expecting a quick visit. Check-out lines are always long. Pharmacy is top notch and always quick.

Great staff, central location. I shopped here right before the Superbowl and filled my fridge for $100 (well lots of coupons, but still :) great buys and good people.

Always a wonderful experience, open 24/7, though the late shifts there are few workers, so getting in and out is slow, and some of their prices are rather high.  If you have a Safeway card though, it usually balances out.  Bountiful choices for groceries.
