Wow! I bookmarked this eatery from the activity log on Yelp and, I'm so glad I did! The food at the Sahara was fantastic and so were each and every employee.  We had the chicken kabob with saffron rice, Greek salad, cheese flat bread, beef middle eastern 'egg rolls', and, potato curry soup.  Wow! all the dishes were delicious and we walked out of there carrying our stomachs!  We definitely will be regulars!

Fast. Seating was adequate.  Food from Mediterranean idk how to judge it.  Ive never really tried it.  So after all dishes. The salad and flat bread veggie was the best.  My taste buds could be different from other people or people raised on Mediterranean food.Recommended dishes

I highly recommend the beef shawarma plate! Very glad that this place has opened their doordash reach to our part of the neighborhood. It's a bit pricey but the portions are generous. Compared to other Middle Eastern places in San Diego, their food is not underwhelmingly dry. I would definitely order from here again.

Great healthy home cooked style Mediterranean food. What else can you ask for? I personally like the entrees here because you get a full on meal.  There were some gnats by the fountain drinks though. Other than that, the food, service and experience was great.

What a very pleasant surprise to have such great eats in my neighborhood of Rancho San Diego! Sahara I would gladly drive miles to eat here again. Great Med food, each portion with its own distinct taste... great portions. As you walk in you get a feel of ‘clean’ because of the great lighting, gleaming white walls and tiling.  All the employees we came in contact with were friendly.  The added bonus is its right next door a great sports bar with local brews.  Folks, Sahara is worth your patronage! 5

Best falafel and baba g I've ever tried. Lovely atmosphere and very clean establishment. Def a go to for my med food craving satisfaction.

Food was great but they didn't include sauce in the bag !!! And failed to mention that it's our responsibility to do so.  They are lucky I had some at home.

For the last few years this was my favorite restaurant. Over the years the quality has slowly dropped. My usual order is the chicken Tikka plate with tabouli. My fiance and me would eat here about 2-3 times a week. First the Pita bread used to be delicious handmade and now is a cardboardy store bought. I still.kept coming here because I get sometimes you have to cut costs. Then after awhile they took the roasted tomatoes out of the meal. Now everytime I order my usual meal it's super salty. The one thing I still absolutely love is the white sauce that comes with the chicken Tikka plate and is the only reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1. For years this was a 5 star place to eat. Bummer that it no longer is on my list of places to eat in SD. I live in La Mesa and drove out there 2-3 times a week to get the food prior : RIP
