This is a beautiful church and the third oldest Catholic Church in Louisiana which was built in the 1800s. The stations of the cross are huge and there is a large replica of the Lourdes grotto inside. The pews themselves are unique in that they are box press that can only be opened on one side. It is considered the mother church of the Cajuns.

St. Martin de Tours is the "mother church" of the Acadians.  A church has stood on this location since the 18th c., and this church was built in the 1830s.  St. Martin de Tours is older than the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.  It is free to walk into this church and take a tour.
