I had an unexpected exacerbation after a routine procedure which resulted in my being admitted to the Pulmonary Care Unit for two days. I was very impressed with the care I received. The Nurses and Doctors were excellent. The nurses and support staff were genuinely personable supportive and caring. I felt comfortable and was confident that I was receiving excellent treatment.

(Yes, I know to spell anonymous, but Google rejected An Onymous.) You know....The medical staff at St. V's is not there to wait on you. If you have decided to go to the ER, chances are you are going to miss a meal. Deal with it. It's not a restaurant. Also, if you are "so sick" that you need ER care, it is possible you may need some procedure that could require fasting, so they don't want to postpone possible care because your tummy was rumbling. Meals are a courtesy, not a right. In fact, if you are in the ER, and not admitted, I do not think they are obligated to feed you like some all inclusive resort. As for you having to wait....have you ever seen some of the dregs of society in an ER waiting room? Your stomach ache, vomiting, cut finger, drunkenness, braxton hicks, gang brawl injury, moderate mental illness, hypochondria, or attempt at getting pain meds runs a distant second to the heart attack or stroke victim, the kid just hit by a car, the pregnant women just involved in a car accident, the overdose, suicide attempt, or the gunshot/stabbing victim. Sorry. Like it or not. As for you thinking noon shouldn't be crowded? IT'S AN EMERGENCY ROOM. Emergencies happen at all times of the day or night. Just because it's noon, doesn't mean they are not busy. That was probably one of the most idiotic statements I have read here, even dumber than the hungry person who complained she couldn't get a meal at 3 am, but thanks for the chuckle. The nurses run the show and do all of the bull work, and you are not the only patient. Try being nice instead of demanding, and the courtesy might be reciprocated. They may not have heard back yet from the doctor, and here you are aggravated because you have to wait 4...6...or 12 hours in the ER. I am amazed by people who NEED NEED NEED the ER, yet want to be out in 2 hours. Too bad. If you want fast service, go to a McDonald's drive thru. That way, you can get your fast service, food, and friendly smile all in one quick stop. If you have a life threatening emergency, injury, or illness, go to the ER and be grateful there are trained medical professionals willing to help you, and keep in mind they probably worked a much longer day or night than you did. By the way...I am NOT a nurse, doctor, or hospital staff, but I do feel for those poor slobs after reading some of these comments.

Came home crying from the awful treatment and pain I had during a recent visit here. Had an Echocardiogram here and the technician was rude and inconsiderate. She was obviously in a rush and not happy to be doing the test because they squeezed me in at the last minute. per my Dr.'s request. The technician was rough and hurt me throughout the hour long test and even though I told her she was hurting me she continued to do so and told me I likely had fibromyalgia instead of owning the fact that she was hurting me. In addition she threw a gown at me and remained in the room while I changed and I wasn't allowed my privacy at all or to fold my clothes. It was an awful experience and next time I will go to my local hospital as planned instead of being hurt and treated badly here.

Abyssmal quality. I showed up at 12AM 9/12/17. The wait to be "seen" was about average. However upon following the nurse I was directed to a bed where I laid for 2 1-2 hours before I even had so much as an acknowledgement that I was a patient. After some tests were done it was decided I would have to see a gynecologist. At this point I explained how I work night and I usually eat dinner around 3AM. However the staff refused to feed me nor let me have any fluids. So fast forward 8 hours and I'm wondering where the gynecologist is since I am literally starving at this point. This hospital left me starving for more than 18 hours for a doctor and a test that never even showed up. I was literally begging them to let me eat food. This place is not concerned over your well being. The nurses act friendly but they do not convey messages at all. Note that at 6PM I was FINALLY allowed to eat. BUT I was informed that the Gynecologist whom I'm been starving myself for all day has went home....

The lady in the maternity ward next to me had a C section and had no one to help with the new baby and the nurses on the day shift where really nice to her. However I noticed at night and as the days went on they yelled at her because she could not take care of her baby. I don't want to sound racist but I noticed that it was any one with a foreign, African, Indian and Some Spanish accents yelling at her. If your pregnancy goes well that is fine. Don't come here alone or get a section here. Don't have complications. Some of these people have no bedside manner and should not work with mother's and new norms. I am glad I was with my wife and would not return to the hospital.
