This review is purely based on my experiences and what I witnessed. If you are planning on attending this “institution” in the pursuit of an education degree, then this is a great place for that, otherwise pay a little more and go to either Loyola, NU, U of C or save money and go to a state school. Favoritism is absolutely rampant within the university as well as subjective grading (e.g. A.D.). If you are on a sports team, you are guaranteed a 3.0 average (this is a fact). I have never witnessed so much cheating in my entire life, until I attended here. The worst person I had to ever deal was in the Sociology Department (i.e. E.W.). “The reason why black people are in jail is because they are angry”, yes he said this. Overall the administration are not nice people. Honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone to a state school. The sad thing about this place, the student body exhibits a lot of ageism. Meaning, if you are over 27 years old go to a different place.

Being a religious institution you would think they would display Christ like character. Unfortunately I was turned away after one semester because I owed $500 out of $22,000 at the time. I wasn't allowed to register for the spring over a $500 bill... I EVENTUALLY GRADUATED FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSITY BUT I DIDN'T LIKE THE WAY THEY HANDLED MY SITUATION. Wasnt offered a payment plan or anything.

I don't know why they own a saloon. Gilhooley's Grand Saloon on 103rd St. is owned by St. Xavier University. You would think that a religious institution would stay clear of being associated with that place. Most of their patrons don't even live in Chicago but they continue to violate the parking permit for the people who live in the area. They have no respect for the area. There are signs clearly posted that say permit 13 parking only.but they continue to park there any ways.

Great school of education and nursing. Nice campus, good catholic education, updated library and facilities.
