Salish Sea Expeditions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to provide an opportunity for students to design and conduct real scientific research on Puget Sound.
Salish Sea Expeditions delivers meaningful, boat-based learning experiences to students in grades 5-12, giving them the opportunity conduct real scientific research, and engage in STEM exploration and maritime skills training. Students deploy oceanographic equipment, gather and analyze data, plot a course for data collection stations, handle sails and boat navigation, and work as a team to better understand the environmental health of the Salish Sea and its connected waterways.
This Facebook page is an online venue for sharing scientific findings of interest to our students, teachers, alumni, supporters and friends, as well as provide updates about our programs and events. While we welcome lively debate,we request that all comments stay constructive and appropriate to the subject matter presented, and reserve the right to block participants who are abusive, offensive or otherwise detrimental to a positive dialogue about science, education and our marine environment.
