Very upscale atmosphere. I went because one of the stylists (Laura) has been my hair stylist for years, she had left her previous place of employment and got a job at Salon 1027. I must say it's definitely worth checking out. Everyone there is very nice. Pricing is nice too. Plus there's more than just hair appointments that can be made too. I am definitely going back there to see what else they have to offer. Since it's mostly targeted towards females, it's hard to speak about other services they offer but if you're a guy, you'll find hair cuts offered there and massage too. If I could give these people a zero I would. I made my wife an appointment for Valentine's day she walked in stood there for 15 mins without a hello so she left. That's pretty pathetic and rude.

*Butchered Balayage*

Went in to get Balayage done, which is a very subtle dye technique that adds depth and saturation to the hair--no visible streaky highlights. When I called and asked about getting Balayage done the girl on the phone told me that's no problem. I don't get my hair color done very often, so I was extremely excited when she told me they do that technique, which I've admired for quite a while. 

When I got to the studio I first had to wait a full hour because the appointment before ran long (I was first told it might take 20 minutes and I could come back later. Thinking it's only 20 minutes I stayed. Guess it unexpectedly took triple the time).

I then said to my hair dresser again that I wanted Balayage and *no* obvious, streaky highlights. I showed her some examples since I wasn't sure about the color. She goes "subtle, hm?" and I say "yes" and next thing I know she's dyeing strands of my hair and I don't even know what color. When I asked she told me blonde, which already worried me. She reassures me "it'll look just like the photo."

After a very long treatment (she took another client while I got my hair washed so I had to wait a while) she shows me the finished result, and while I thought it wasn't what I wanted I thought it was ok. It wasn't until I got home and took photos of my whole head in natural light that I saw the chipmunk-style hair I got. It's literally just blond, blocky highlights. It's the complete opposite of what I wanted and for sure no balayage. I absolutely hate it. I don't even want to go outside like this. Utterly misleading to tell me they can do balayage at that salon. Unfortunately I had to leave the country a couple days after the appointment so I didn't get the chance to go back (and I wouldn't want them to do my hair again, anyway).

I'm very, very unhappy. Wasted money and now I have to find another salon to hopefully get it done better. Is there no salon that can do natural looking, great color?

It's just especially disappointing since it was a birthday gift from my boyfriend and I was so excited. Now my boyfriend is disappointed I hate it, and I'll end up paying to go to another salon, anyway.
