My wife is a local customer of this salon and owner. She enjoys getting her hair cut, colored, and styled here regularly. The prices are good and the salon is clean. All the hairstylists are friendly.

There is a gentleman at the salon who has supposedly done the hair of celebrities and even the news channels. Since he is supposed to be the best of the best, am I am wary about having other people do permanent things to my hair, I decided to try him out. 

It was supposed to be a simple hair relaxer with highlights. And he charged up the wazoo.

However, my new hairstyle did not last 2 days. The color faded immediatly since he never deactvated the color and so it washed out immediately, leaving me with yucky rust colored streaks. And the 'relaxer' done by the "professional" was uneven, with sections of my hair being obviously straighter then others.

If you decide to get your hair done at the Merle Norman Salon in Rock Hill, SC, don't go to the guy who has his own little room in the back. He thinks he's the dream of the crop, but he is obviously, and definetly not.
