Due to an appointment at a different salon being canceled I found my self desperate for a blow dry/ style on a Saturday afternoon for my brother's wedding. I am visiting from NYC and was referred to Nico Bella but they were closed and recommended that I go to magnolia. I was very nervous about finding a place because we have very high standards in NYC. I told the girl that I was wearing a 50's style dress so would like feminine curls, but my hair does not hold curl so if you think it is no possible then lets try a 1/2 up style or volume pony tail. I even showed her some pictures. She started by not washing my hair and saying that it will style better dirty and that she feels she can get it to curl. When she finished my hair looked nothing like the photos and did not look good at all! It had wavy curls and my hair still looked greasy from my morning run. So we decided to try a 1/2 up to see if that would look better. Nope, now my hair looks teased, frizzy and still nothing like the photos I showed her. I asked her to do something about the frizz, she added de-frizzing oil to my hair....so it is now heavier and greasier. This is going downhill so I tell her just to do voluminous pony. It still is not looking right....b/c my hair looks greasy and teased. At this point I am now using the brush to try and work my hair and get it into some kind of ponytail. It is not working. I really think my hair should have been washed and then used volumizing products and a nice blow out. After multiple attempts I payed for the service and left. I went to the salon next door to see if they could help me....they were completely booked. The receptionist helped me to call other salons to find an appointment and of course everyone is booked on a Saturday afternoon. I am on the verge of tear as this hair is now going to be in wedding photos. With no choice left, I go back to Magnolia and plead for them to fix my hair. They tell me they are booked for the rest of the day and cannot help me. The person I spoke with said she had 7min that she can try to give it some curl and try to make it a little bit better. At this point this is all I have left to try. The only good thing they did do was give me with a comb and some hair spray so that I can try and fix it up just before the wedding. Of course 3 hours into the wedding all of my curls fell out and I was in the changing room re-curling my hair. This was a horrible experience that led me to nearly crying with no options.

Does not listen to customers, cuts corners, employees lazy. You're better off with box dye and a drunk friend. Chargedd 85 bucks for cut/colour even if you bring your own dye. Made a handicapped woman cry.

I've been coming to Salon Magnolia for several years and have never left dissatisfied. I always feel great when I leave and can't stop glancing at my hair in the store front windows as I walk to my car. :)

Salon Magnolia is a sweet spot - the best Salon in East Vancouver and Camas/Washougal. They provide the highest quality of services is this area. The place has a great feel to it and the people there are sweet. Plus it is an Aveda Salon. They do a lot of good work. I can’t recommend it enough.

I just moved to Camas from NY and I have always used an Aveda salon, I went to salon Magnolia as it was convenient looked good and of course was an 'Aveda' affiliate. I asked for a temp color and a cut & blow out, when I left the salon I noticed my hair wasn't dry properly at the nape of my neck I didn't say anything because I have alot of hair and it looked good on the outside so I didn't want to complain. ( I paid $120 including tip) Next day I was brushing my hair I noticed the color didn't cover anything the sides of my hair had growth plus my 3-4 greys were still there! I was shocked, I went back and showed the owner she said 'what do you want us to do about it?' I said you tell me. she offered to book me in with the same person I said 'i dont think thats a good idea' so she booked me in with another person for the following week. I unfortunately missed that appointment because of a family matter & also because I was embarrassed I put it out of my mind. A week or so went by I got the courage to go back in and say 'can you please fix my hair' they said yes then no, then yes but we have to charge you again we'll give you a 20% discount though. I said 'forget it' ! Now they've lost a potential 'lifetime' client. I would make sure my customer is happy I would not let a customer walk out the door upset or paying for something NOT DONE. it's not about he money but the lack of professionalism and waste of my time on my day off. This salon needs improvement on their skills, their business decisions and their overall customer service. Being nice just doesn't cut it!
