The staff at Salon Salon were so welcoming and professional. Melissa was personable and friendly the whole time. I have had a few bad haircuts in the past and Melissa was so reassuring and listened to what I wanted. She also had great suggestions and it made my hair look so much better! I would recommend Salon Salon to anyone.

Conclusion: Find another salon if you have long hair, layers, or need bangs. My haircut at Salon Salon was not to my standard. I made an appointment, did not have a preference for stylist. They were able to get me in within the next two days. When I walked in for my appointment, one receptionist was on the phone and dismissive and despite being nearly empty, I had to wait almost 10 minutes before I could be checked in by someone else. The first thing the hairdresser asked was what I wanted. Straight-across bangs, layers starting higher up (as my hair grows quickly and thickly), thinning out, and to trim the dead ends. The stylist did a great job with washing and blow-drying. But that was about the only thing. She trimmed the ends, which are now uneven, and thinned out. She did not even touch the current layers I have that are grown out nor did she add new layers. I had to physically remind her before she added hairspray that I wanted bangs and she admitted, "I did not even hear that." When going over length of bangs, she literally just reached out and cut hairs higher without measuring, without making sure to even out the rest of the bangs. The result is that the middle is almost 1/4" higher than the rest of my bangs. Next time I'll spend my money elsewhere with a hairdresser who actually listens to the client and follows through on what is requested. Pros: Great job washing and blow-drying. Clean. Cons: Did not follow-through with requested cut. Cannot handle layers. Cannot handle bangs.

We are traveling through Michigan this summer and have been away from our Florida home since early June. I desperately needed a haircut and had tried in several towns to get an appointment but it wasn’t until we reached Marquette that I was able to do so. Melissa cut my hair at Salon Salon. She doesn’t know me but did an outstanding job getting me trimmed and re-shaped. I’m thrilled with the result. Thanks, Melissa! You are super. Happy trails.
