It was our 1st date in the New Year! It's one of his favorite restaurants. It surprisingly wasn't that busy on NEW Years night so we were seated immediately. The food was great, presentation on the plate was blah, BUT our server was wonderful...Thank you HANNA! AND...we were seated in the back corner by the heater which was fabulous, so it was nice and toasty. GREAT TIME, NEW YEAR, NEW LOVE, NEW MEMORIES!
We had a great meal at Salt Grass. My sirloin steak was cooked exactly the way I liked it. It was very tender and juicy. My son had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and he really liked it. We also ordered the Amazon chocolate cake.Food: 5/5
We had the most excellent service by Rolando and the best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever had! We were happy to know that the potato soup was gluten free! We also had the salmon Caesar salad & chicken w fried asparagus was to perfection! Highly recommend this place! Thank you
Thank you so much Saltgrass Steak House. I totally experienced the way food and the atmosphere is suppose to go while enjoying a meal. Thank you for the most polite wait staff, because it really matters and makes a person want to come back. Thanks to our waiterJaylan, you rock. This Saltgrass, knocked it out of the park. Gatherings, meetings, or just having fun. Enjoy while eating a meal.
The first time I've been to a Saltgrass steakhouse in years, the last time was in Mesquite Texas for my birthday at least twenty years ago. The bartender took my order and was very polite and friendly. The food was excellent . Definitely be coming backFood: 5/5
I normally love salt grass. However, I went to this location tonight & was disappointed. After looking at the drink menu I was stuck between two. I asked the bartender which of the two cocktails he would recommended. He suggested his own. When I tried it I told him I was not a fan. I told the bartender I’d be happy to pay for the drink I did not like in Exchange for a vodka based drink. He then made the same cocktail but with vodka & I was satisfied. When I went to order a second cocktail it came out with tequila instead of vodka. I assume he just hit repeat on the screen & made the original order. However, when I told him it was tequila he argued with me.. I told him to try it and he refused. Understandable I then passed my drink the random guy next to me and asked if he would try it. He agreed it was tequila. The bartender then proceed to the end of the bar. Grabbed the bottle of Tito’s, raised it high in the air and made it a point to where the whole bar would see him remake my drink. I felt like he was trying to embarrass me or make me feel bad for asking for a correct drink. I was taken bask as I just did not expect this type of behavior from this of restaurant.
My family & I visited this location a couple weeks ago on a Monday for lunch. We met the manager, Danielle that day who was so sweet to our children and our server Erika, was wonderful and very attentive. They both were! I don't like to venture out and try new places too often but I'm so glad we went into Saltgrass. Their steak is mouth watering and so tender! I had a bite of my son's chicken strips and they were super yummy too! My family and I will definitely be back and appreciate the hospitality we were shown on the day of our visit. Kid-friendliness: Both our server and manager on shift were so sweet to our children and showed us great hospitality!
Been to this l9cation 20 plus times and never had a problem. Not sure if this was just a one off night or the new standard. The appetizer we ordered never came. The steak sauce I requested twice, never came. Fiancee second drink, which was same as first, amaretto splash was brought out as a shot of tequila... when said not ours, we never got our drink. My Moscow mule was anything but that. One of our medium rare steaks was closer to medium well, but didn't send back as we were unsure we would get one back.... to top it off we went here for my 51st birthday.... definitely not the outing I anticipated....
August 2023 Dined at THE BEST Saltgrass in the DFW! Plano Saltgrass on the North Dallas Tollway. Chris, our server was outstanding As always. Allan ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and fresh greenbeans with the fantastic "Saltgrass Seasoning" and a quartino of Texas Hold 'Em. He loves this Texas wine! I ordered the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad and a glass of Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon. It is such a generous serving that I took half of it home to enjoy for lunch the following day. Last year, I purchased a huge container of the signature Saltgrass Seasoning. I sprinkle it on fresh greenbeans and hamburgers when I make them at home. I highly suggest you buy a bottle. Did you know a Bakery Chef makes the Saltgrass Carrot Cakes and Shiner Bock beer batter breads? Here at the Plano location, his name is Victor, and HE is outstanding at baking the signature, Saltgrass Carrot Cake - It is absolute perfection and unmatched in all of Dallas! Monday eve, we enjoyed another wonderful dining experience at the Plano Saltgrass. We've traveled the world and the seven seas, but THIS Saltgrass is THE BEST! Question: Do you want to eat steak and earn points toward a complimentary steak meal? You CAN at Saltgrass! Saltgrass has a loyalty rewards system. Every purchase you make, racks up points, and one can earn a $25 gift card toward a comp meal. In this Loyalty Club, Allan & I both get a complimentary meal on our birthdays; my birthday, Allan's birthday, AND our anniversary! What we like to do is accumulate our rewards and save them for a birthday, anniversary or holiday. Rack up your points, and eventually, the two of you can dine on complimentary meals. You can not beat this deal! Also, on M - F, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm, the Early Dinner begins, and the menu is at a discount. Allan & I jokingly refer to the Early Dining as "The Blue Hair Special." At 4:30 when we go, it's ppl our age so I refer to us a Blue Hairs. Don't hate me!! WE LOVE the Blue Hair Special! You're going to go out to eat anyway - might was well rack up points for a comp meal, right? Ask them about the Loyalty Rewards card! You'll be glad you did! Enjoy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We've visited several Saltgrass restaurants locally, but the Plano restaurant is our favorite. The food is always excellent b/c their cooks are the best, and the service is the best. If you've never ordered the grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad, try it! You'll love it! The hamburger comes with fries, and this burger & fries are "The total package." Pictured here a piece of my medium burger. They're huge; I can never finish mine and give at least 1/4 of it away. I turned to snap a photo of my husband's Chicken Fied Chicken Steak, but he only had one bite left! He always orders the fresh greenbeans with the Saltgrass Seasoning on them. BTW: one can purchase a big sprinkle jar of the Saltgrass Seasoning. At home, I put it on all our homemade burgers and greenbeans. We also enjoyed a glass of Texas Hold 'Em wine with our meal. Note: Dessert lovers: The BEST Carrot Cake in the world is here at Saltgrass. We rack up rewards at Saltgrass, so every birthday and anniversary, we are treated to a comp celebration meal. Also, they serve "Early Dinner" M- F with great reduced prices. So whether in your in the mood for a "total package" awesome burger or a fantastic Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad, with great prices, Salt Grass is the place! And it's worth it to travel to the Plano location right off the North Dallas Tollway. Parking: Plenty of free parking completely surrounding the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Plentiful handicap parking and a ramp.
Great ribeye steak. The free bread is really great. Tortilla soup is the best you can find in Texas! Vegetarian options: I wouldn’t suggest vegetarians going to the steakhouse.
