Just had lunch at Salty's sitting at the bar. We were quite taken aback (and frankly a little offended) when the server asked us to pay up front for our meal. Apparently if you sit at the bar even if you're not drinking alcohol you may forget to pay for your meal. We asked to speak to the manager, who couldn't be bothered to talk to us for the 20-30 minutes it took for us to eat. On our way out, we found her sitting in the completely empty dining room playing with her phone. We asked her about the policy and she didn't have much to say other than "OK!", in a sprightly voice with a big smile on her face, which to me says "I don't care what you're saying and I wish you would go away now."  I had thought of calling the owner but from what I'm reading on these reviews I don't think I will get anywhere. I completely understand the policy of holding a credit card or paying cash immediately when you are drinking at a bar- but this was lunch, and we drank water. 
We have eaten at Salty's quite a few times (always at the bar) and the food and service have always been very good but we won't be back, mainly because of the manager's attitude. I also work in a place where people ask me to recommend restaurants and I had sent quite a few to Salty's. Not any more. I just feel sorry for the people who will lose their jobs when this place closes.

Live entertainment when we were there Sunday afternoon.  I love their popcorn for an appetizer. We also shared an order of nachos which was more than enough for 2 people, plus drinks for happy hour and our bill was less than 20 bucks! Can't beat that!  Great view, too right on Indian River.

I've only been for lunch but the food was delicious. Definitely try the fish tacos! Great view. My only complaint is after enjoying a few cold beers on the water I don't want to wait in line for the bathroom before heading home. Single serve. Oh well... Doesn't take away from the atmosphere!

If I would have done this last year I would have said excellent superb great but the business is just making so many changes you can't keep up with it. The appetizer prices are very high there some appetizers that just aren't enough for the price. The why build a new deck out back and they have stay really nice music they have happy hour from 3 to 7 I believe and that's that's a good deal too so go check it out.

Good prices, good food. The Black Beard Nacho plate (small) is big enough for two. Inside and out seating.
