For the area, probably one of the best places to stop and eat. Pie is AMAZING - chocolate, coconut, peach cobbler, plain white cake with icing and more!! Veggies are a bit bland (need pepper), but that is necessary for buffet food to work for everyone. Brisket was tender and sauce was good. Sliced sausage was VERY tasty (and I do not usually eat that). Bread is a yeast bread - just like my grandmother makes. If you like yeast bread, you will love it.

We make it a point to stop each time we pass through Fairfield. It's clean with a very friendly staff, great food, and super cute gift shop. They have both a regular menu and an awesome buffet. Wednesday is beef enchilada night. Friday is catfish night. But there are always several entrees from which to choose. Just a great little country store restaurant. And dessert is super yummy!

The ham was far over cooked! Chicken breast was too large to think about eating; BBQ brisket was so over cooked we couldn't handle it to pick it up; and that sweet bread had too, too much yeast! The dessert tray was not placed on ice; all pies had been broken apart/looking dry. The green bean casserole really request special attention! It looked uninviting and had no taste at all! Plus, our waitress forgot to bring one of our members food. WE WERE RIDING A BUS; THEREFORE, UNABLE TO CONFRONT THE MGR. This place does need much better cooks or better cooking lessons...

Update: It's been a while since we stopped in but the food is just as good as always.-- We enjoyed the wonderful buffet at Sam's Restaurant on a Sunday. The salad offered a plethora of choices. The main courses on the buffet included roast beef (au jus), fried chicken, and chicken fried meat. There were plenty of more options. The desert bar was full of pies, cakes. cobblers and ice cream -- I zeroed in on the blackberry cobbler which was full of flavor with just the right touch of tartness The whole experience was like visiting grandma on a Sunday for a home cooked meal.
