The crew ...every last one of them were so professional, so hard working, so creative in designing our new semi circular front stairs. Just beautiful. They arrive ready to work and dont stop or slow down all day or any day its an amazing thing to watch and we can not recommend them more highly. We had an engineer come to see it when complete and he said" I have seen alot of cement poured but this is the best I have ever seen. It is exceptional work." Thank you to Mike, Hector all the guys you were awesome from start to finish.

In my opinion, Sam the concrete man is a fictitious company. Located in Chesterfield Mo but is the same as other by the name throughout the country. From what I can come up with is they are anchored in Colorado. I picked them out of three other companies based on research that turned out to be short of complete. Thought I’d done all I could to protect myself from a bad contractor. There where early signs of issues when getting the estimate by Mick Harris, (Estimator/Project Manager). Slow to respond but blew it off as a very busy company. There web page states ST. LOUIS’ #1 RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL CONCRETE CONTRACTOR FOR OVER 28 YEARS, also BBB shows an A+ rating so how could I go wrong. I’ve seen good and bad reviews but knew that sometimes you must sift through and decide. I did and wish I would have searched longer. We hired based on these reports but the 28 years in business of Sam the Concrete Man subcontracted to a company of only 2 years so what’s the point of hiring a company with history if they just grab any two guys wanting to make a buck. These guys start on hot days not till after 11 so naturally they are miserable in the heat but they totally botched the job. They did a horrible job this is a 12X51ft patio. They laid the first half on 6/14/17 and when done I saw a dip that I reported to one worker and Mick, remember Mick? He said he would come out but never showed. They then came out to do the second half and did so. This was not a bad job but they forgot to put the radius corner in. I didn’t make a big deal of it then but buy the time they were all done I had to include it because of all issues. Their bobcat caught fire and we put it out but the only way to move a dead bobcat is to drag it and they did across my lawn on top of all the other damage the bobcat already had made. So now they, I guess figure it’s done because Mick calls me to see what I think, how’s it looks he said. I told him it’s holding water like I told him it would. He said he would send out the worker but I insisted he meet me there. We discussed repair options and he mentioned a patch on top that would look great and match. They would grind down and level off. I was willing to give it a shot but it turned up worse than before. So now he calls again asking what I think, how’s it look. I said I don’t know what do you think? He said I think it looks great. He either is blind or never showed to view it. Security camera indicates he never showed So, then I made them tear that square out and redo, so now it’s done, hope it blends someday but they never even offered to repair my lawn they destroyed. Since it been completed there has been several jobs done around the neighborhood by other companies that look very professional and where done in a very short time. Every time I see a professional job like these it makes me sick! Follow up. Repair area has still not blended with the rest

Mike and his crew where timely and profession, I even had another contractor interrupt his job to complete their own, and Mike willing and flexible, while still able to stay within a day of his original time frame. I feel the price was fair and work done exceeded my expectations. unfortunately he's unable to reattach the patio porch supports and gutters after completing the concrete, but that is my only complaint.

We highly recommend them. We've done a lot of concrete work in the past, both ourselves and contracted, so we've seen it all. We had about 1000 sq. ft as I recall, consisting of a patio, a large elliptical extension to the patio and a walk on a sloped area connecting the patio to the driveway. The quality of the work is excellent, both the prep work in terms of the rebar suspension and anchoring into the existing concrete as well as the finishing work. All was stamped, colored concrete. The job was done on schedule at a good price and Mike was easy to work with and kept us informed. If we have future concrete work we will certainly contract with them again. You wont get a better quality job elsewhere.
