Easy permit process if you are prepared. 3 stars because the building department phone line repeats its message every 17 seconds. Drives me absolutely bonkers.

THEY DON'T ANSWER THEIR PHONES, THEY DON'T CALL BACK WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL.... SAN DIEGO DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEIR INCREDIBLY LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Always friendly and trying their best! The process is slow but that is because we have high safety/seismic standards in SD. Follow instructions to a "T" and you will have no problems. Assume things and expect delays. Simple!

Inspector supposed to come to my property at designated time. He ask for the good phone number to contact in the residence and it was given to him. We waited for him at the designated time window that was given to us. We found the note card with a check mark on all 3 boxes: no adult present, no access, no approved plans on site. EVERYONE IS HOME AND HAD BEEN WAITING FOR THE CITY INSPECTOR. He didn't even bother to give us a call. We miss work for this inspection. What's going on with our City Employees? Do they think we are working for them? It is our TAX MONEY that use to pay them. We paid our City Permit for this inspection. Do we have to beg for their time? UNBELIEVABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THIS CITY OF SAN DIEGO EMPLOYEE. WE HOPE THAT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WILL NOT HAPPEN TO YOU. ALWAYS REMEMBER THE GOLDEN RULE: DON'T DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT OTHERS TO DO UNTO YOU. GOD BLESS YOU.
