An incredibly fun spot with such a wide variety of high quality food! I don’t think it matters what you’re hungry for, you’ll find something to satisfy you here. Even if you’re not looking for food, walking through is a fun way to overview Madrid’s general culinary scene. The whole market is huge, and you’ll have to walk through a couple loops if you want to get a good idea of all the options which I recommend doing anyways. Definitely bustling and a bit crowded, I’d definitely say it can be a bit overwhelming and you’ll struggle to locate a good spot to eat your food inside. Although not impossible, it’s definitely easier with a group who can spread out to locate an open area - and once you have one, keep it!
I heard good feedback about this place but still came out with an excellent impression having high expectations, to begin with. The choice of food is fantastic. You can find lunch, dinner tapas and breakfast churros or a different pastry here. The place is lovely and has an excellent design. The lighting emphasizes the bright, colourful food experience—lots of places to stop and have a meal without anyone crashing you. I also found the site not very crowded, making the whole thing even more pleasant. Here are a few practical tips: - you want to try everything there, slow down - there is a limit to what you can eat. Try ordering just a few pieces from a place - more expensive does not mean better. Some cheaper tapas impressed me more - don’t be afraid to try things. You might be surprised - keep a count: small things add up. You won’t notice as you’ll spend more than 50 euros. With all that, I hope you will still love the place as I did on my trip.
Amazing place for a quick bit in the middle of the day. Wide variety of dishes you can have burgers, pizzas, tacos, starters accompanied by some sangria or beer. Very nice atmosphere as well, but a little bit crowded if you go in the middle of the day. Pretty hard to find seat..
Wonderful and fascinating place, you can find the best of the best from the Spanish genius cooking. Plates from the north, to the south and much more. The quality is the best restaurants in the world. Service is great, such a friendly environment and great atmosphere. Very recomendable for a visit. Not a good idea with little kids, but certainly for adults who can enjoy the amazing and delicious variety of food. One of the best spots in Madrid!
A fun place near Plaza Mayor to try out a wide variety of food! I didn’t like the paella as it was cold, but the tapas, sandwich, sausage, sashimi and fruits were all worth it! This place was so crowded though, making it quite difficult to get a seat - so we ate at the counter instead. Also there’s a decent toilet that you can use for free with a bill or pay 0.5€ for without a bill.
This is the market if all markets if your looking for good food and delicious drinks. I was surprised at how it’s organised, people standing, eating and drinking seemed normal. It felt like a night club but with more bars under one roof. There’s security officers outside at each exit, which means you can drink and eat all you like just gotta leave the glassware behind.
The market is located very close to the royal palace so it is nice to take a bite or a drink right after visiting the palace. It is very clean, vibrant perfectly managed, lots of good Spanish/Italian food like tapas, mozzarella, raw/cooked seafood, pastries etc…. But , be aware, it is very expensive I must say. I mean like small tray of fried calamari for one person is 17€ self serving on shared very uncomfortable stools!
The food is overwhelming in a positive way. There are so many choices of little bits of everything. Price ranges from €1.50-€25 for food and €4-€8 for a glass of drinks. Be prepared to stand up and eat, there is a limited seating section but it's always packed. The place is well maintained and there are always people collecting trash. The atmosphere is lively, even without music, and it's kids friendly.
Wow this place is one of the best markets I have visited! The seafood was delicious, oysters were best in Spain and ahi poke tuna was out of sight! The empanadas were so tasty. The dessert selections were all amazing! The beer and wine, like 6 types of sangria. A must in Madrid!
Foodie heaven is what I would call this market! This is a great place for meeting up with friends for drinks and tapas. I loved how much variety of foods they had at this market. Ranging from Harmon ibérico, cafe, vino, empanadas, to desserts. This market provides you the opportunity to sample a little bit of everything. I would definitely come back for the food. It was pretty crowded when I was here.
