This museum is laden with local natural history. Don't let it's small size fool you! They have exhibits covering everything from the indigenous tribes to the native animals and plants - both on land and in the bay. There is a touch tank, a fossil crate, a bone index, a wide array of native animals on display (mostly stuffed, although there are live bees in an enclosed hive, as well as a live snake), and a full room dedicated to the Ohlone people where you can learn about their traditions and history. The docents are friendly and knowledgeable, ready to answer any questions you may have. And there's a gift shop!

A great place to take a break from the busy beaches. Friendly staff and a based look at Santa Cruz's nature.

Not awesome.. But definitely more exciting than I expected it to be. My kids are fortunately at the age where they were excited to explore the animals and cool natural history. We went to be able to park in there space next to the beach.. No lot but designated street parking... Although most people got a ticket for not noticing.. They also have this life size whale sculpture out front that is amazing to realize the real life size... I enjoyed this Lil pass threw.
