A warm and welcoming congregation, I felt at home here from my first visit 6 years ago. The people are great, the Rabbi is engaging and a great teacher. The B'nai Mitzvah program is second to none. I cannot recommend the SMS enough!

This is an amazing Synagogue. Rabbi is very intelligent and knowledgable. The education director and all the teachers are warm, nurturing and caring about all the kids. Everyone there is friendly and kind. The environment is safe and loving - it feels like one big extended family.

I've been a member of this synagogue for 11 years since our family moved from Washington DC to Santa Monica. I started out not knowing anyone, got involved in helping to recruit volunteers, and now I'm on the Board of the synagogue. This is a very warm, place for people to have a caring community--something that is often missing from people's lives. Our synagogue welcomes interfaith, LGBTQ, and multiracial members. Our Rabbi offers fascinating adult education on Judaism and our Education Director is the reason that we have young engaged kids in our school who stay on past the age of 13 for interesting programming such as trips to Jewish NYC, a social action program in Washington DC, and the TALAVI program that brings together Jewish teens from Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, and Vilnius, Lithuania.

I was in Santa Monica this past week visiting family and went to the Santa Monica Synagogue. I have had a challenging summer and have found it more difficult to connect spiritually in my home town of Denver, CO. After attending the Santa Monica Synagogue I felt refreshed and renewed again. Everyone I met including the Rabbi made me feel welcome and at home. Thank you again and I hope to visit the next time I am in town. Chris Denver, CO
