The Saratoga museum hosts a wealth of locally oriented historic and prehistoric artifacts, geologic specimens and art. The museum is housed in an early-1900s Union Pacific Railroad depot. The museum grounds contain the Storer Music Pavilion, a Union Pacific caboose, a Union Pacific refrigeration car, a blacksmith shop, sheepherder wagon, tie-hack go devil and much more.
The museum hosts several cultural events and "treks" to historic and prehistoric site throughout the area every year.
The Saratoga Historical and Cultural Association (SHCA) seeks to deepen understanding of the historic, prehistoric, geological and cultural past of the town of Saratoga and its relevant place in the Platte Valley, Carbon County, and the state of Wyoming; strengthen the bonds of the local community, and provide an educational, stimulating and positive experience for museum visitors.
