Located in food court of Willowbrook mall, this Sarku has sushi counter on one side and teriyaki grill on the other side. It’s very popular with shoppers, as I witnessed customers getting in line one after another. It was fun to watch them grill, the whole grill was covered by chicken, they prepared about 12 boxes at the same time. The taste of the food was excellent, standard Sarku quality. Chicken was tender, with yummy teriyaki sauce, soft rice and nicely cooked vegetables.
The food here is good which explains the usual long lines. But the lines do move quickly. The chicken teriyaki is great for the price vs portion but I do wish they used white meat instead. Service is also good. They give you extra teriyaki sauce if you ask.
Tasty food and long standing restaurant in this mall. I thought it used to be Sakura but it’s not. The counter was a bit dirty and in disarray with no napkins. The cashier was nice and understood my order clearly and it came correctly. The teriyaki sauce wasn’t as flavorful as it used to be and not as much rice for the amount of meat I ordered. But all in all it was good. The shrimps could’ve been cooked a little longer though. As well as the cabbage… felt undercooked and plastic-y. The sushi station looked clean too! All in all for mall food it’s tasty and the price is decent. Better than the fried options in the court.
Sarku Japan is national chain of Japanese takeout restaurants, mostly in the northeast. I have over the years been to at least twenty of their locations, and never been disappointed. This Sarku Japan in Willowbrook Mall, Wayne, NJ, is yet another in a long line of this chain to meet my expectations. My favorite dish here is the teriyaki, both beef and chicken, which is not just the meat and sauce, but also a generous portion of rice, both steamed or fried, and topped off with a huge dollop of steamed vegetables, the same that one would find in my favorite non meat choice, the Veggie D'Lite. The portion served is more than one meal for me, so I gladly take it to go, and get a nice little meal the next day. Their sushi rolls are also a treat. Service here is, as in all other Sarkus, top notch and enthusiastic. Even the cooks convey the impression that they love their work. Kudos to all. Vegetarian options: They have a Veggie D'Lite that is quite good. Also numerous non meat options. Dietary restrictions: Signs posted for caloric content and potential allergens. Parking: Huge parking lot with thousands of spaces. Kid-friendliness: Superlative service. Always enthusiastic, informative, and accommodating. Wheelchair accessibility: ADA compliant ramp for easy access
They are pretty consistent and affordable. I like the sushi. I get it a lot. Only once didn’t I like it. My friends eat here a lot. The employees work well together. I think the food is ok for lunch. Parking: Mall parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: There’s no stairs by this restaurant.
The food here is amazing! The double teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies is such a good amount of food for the price, and it tastes really good as well. The staff here aren't super friendly, but it's a food court place so that doesn't really matter. They take your order and make it quickly, so why complain if the food is so good!! Would highly recommend for good, cheaper food in the mall and I will come here often!
Got the lo mein with orange and general tso chicken. Chicken is crispy and tasty. And the lo mein is on point.
I’ve always loved this place. The food is great and customer service has always been great. However, today was different. I’m not sure what was going on with management today. I asked for sushi and the workers told me the rice wasn’t ready. Now, I knew one of my friend’s wanted sushi as well. I called her and she told me they gave her no issues. I go back and there the workers are, making her sushi she ordered prior to me asking. And they gave a big spoonful of rice to someone else. I asked again if I can have a sushi since my friend has sushi and I literally see it. They looked at me, and each other, and finally made my sushi. I don’t know why I was the only one told this lie.

I have never left a bad review anywhere before but there’s a first time for everything. I ordered chicken teriyaki with veggies and rice to go and it was barely closing and dripping out of the sides with teriyaki sauce. When we asked the guy if there were any bags he said “no more bags” with a pile of brown bags behind him. We pointed this out and he told us we had to pay 25 cents when we ordered if we wanted a bag. So now I’m carrying a messy half open box in my car with no bag or napkins.
