Satchel's catered for my wedding reception and knocked it out of the park. They drove out a van to the site at a nearby park, set up chafing dishes for the meat and sides, and had a staff member available to serve for about 4 hours. Our guests loved the food and many pointed out how well the staff worked throughout the event. We never had a pan run empty and he kept everything fresh for us the entire time. The entire planning process went without a hitch and we were extremely impressed.

The food was fresh and was promptly served. My husband liked the collard greens and I liked the vinegar coleslaw. We had chicken which was really good. My husband had brisket but he didn't like as well as the chicken.

Came in for lunch and had sat down with food within 2 mins of ordering (no line). Had the combo platter with chicken and brisket with mac & cheese, baked beans, and cornbread on the side. Value was good at ~$15 for 1/4# of each meat. Chicken was excellent, good flavor and moist, brisket was pot-roast with no smoke flavor, mac & cheese was delicious, baked beans were runny and lacked flavor, cornbread was a bit dry but ok. Overall good with great highlights being  the chicken and mac & cheese. While there is better BBQ in the area, I'd recommend Satchels for a quick bite.

Took one look at my plate and said, "Wow! That's food!" It looks more like home cooking than restaurant. I recommend it.

We're from San Diego visiting on business and wanted BBQ so we gave it a try. The girl at the register lacked any type of customer service. The food was okay. It didn't blow us away but the fried corn was delicious! The sweet tea wasn't sweet either. Won't be eating here again in our weeks long visit.
