Amazing! Great vibes and super clean. The staff was so professional and had the quintessential southern charm! We had ribs that were falling off the bone and the tangy, spicy lemon pepper wings. It's hard to not sacrifice quality when going from pop-up to restaurant and they accomplished it! My husband almost fell asleep in his chair after his double rib plate and if you know soul food, you know that's a compliment. Great experience! *park in the "shops" lot behind the block of restaurants for convience.*
Y'all, get in here and grab yourself some delicious barbecue. I was a little unsure what to get and after picking my meats and sides I stumbled about sauces and they gave me their advice on which to get and how to have it prepared on the ribs, on the side of the hot link. Be sure you're going to want the meats they have since it's just wings, hot-link in a bun, and ribs. The ribs were super delicious - soft tender and oh-so flavorful. The hot link was definitely spicy with a nice char on it. The bun was light, pillowy, delightful delicate texture under the hot link. The sauces were quite different from each other and all delicious. Their environment is super clean and a very cool vibe. A mix of old-style with the black and white photo wall together with more modern tables and chairs. Can't wait to come back.
I got the two-meat option, the hot-link and the chicken wings. The hot link was my favorite. The wings need to be crispy and maybe less salt in the green beans but overall delicious. I really appreciate that the menu is simple. Easy to choose what you want. It reminded me of being back in the South. Also enjoyed the atmosphere, and the music was great.
The chefs are really passionate about their food and it shows. The food is absolutely amazing!!! The ribs were super tender and juicy. The hot link was beautifully spiced with some heat. Corn on the cob alone is amazing but then try it with the teriyaki and parmesean. Yum! Delicious sauces and definitely try the Mac and cheese! Saucy's team is super nice and adorable! This place is BOMB AF! First off, the staff is AMAZING! Super friendly, was greeted as soon as we walked in the door, & they explained what they had on menu. Secondly, the place is clean & it was awesome to see them on top of this. Last but certainly not least, the food is DELICIOUS! Tender meat, great sauces, & fresh. It was so good, we went back the next day for more instead of trying another place. Best BBQ I’ve had in a very long time! This place is my new favorite & go to when I visit Denver. If you don’t, you’re missing out big time!
Having spent some time in the South, Denver’s scene was certainly lacking. However, Saucy’s Southern delivers. Ribs were tender, wings were deliciously grilled, the mac and cheese and green beans were perfection. All the flavors and sauces were balanced. You can tell the food was made with love. Not only is the food great, but the staff was friendly! I will be coming back to support this great business!
Awesome place with fantastic bbq. Legit southern food Mississippi style in Denver. The meats and sides were fantastic! We loved the baked beans, perfect sweet flavor. The owners were really nice and it’s great to support a locally owned business.
Take me to church! This new BBQ restaurant nestled just off the Univeristy of Denver campus is built different, on so many levels. First, rather than traditional smoked meats, Saucy's succeeds in its audacity to grill their meats. The assembly line of smiling faces takes your order as you choose between ribs, chicken wings, or Louisiana hot links, or all three. Choose your sides ranging from the near perfect Mac & Cheese, the baked beans sure to please, to the grilled teriyaki cornone word to describe this relative of Mexican street corn on the cob-FLAVORBOMB!. But the best part is a detail many won't get: your order comes in styrofoam to go containers, and not just because seating is limited. It harkens back to a time when Southern Baptist churches used sell BBQ, fried catish or fried chicken dinners to their parishioners to promote fellowship as well as generate additional revenue. But rather than open up the menu to full-scale soul food, Saucy's just does what it does best: no frills BBQ that is good down to the bone. And if the grand opening crowd is any indication, Saucy's Southern BBQ will gain a following far beyond D.U undergrads looking for something new to eat in between classes. We will definitely be back!
Finally great BBQ in Denver! Absolutely delicious! The BBQ is tasty, hot, fast, and fresh. I got the 2 meat plate with ribs, hot link, mac & cheese, and teriyaki parm corn. My partner’s green beans were super delicious too. I’m going to get a big side of those next time. You get sooo much food! The customer service is phenomenal. The music is fun. It was great to meet the owners — such kind people. Will be back again and again! Can’t wait to bring my friends.
Literally the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my life. Honestly, it’s some of the best food I’ve ever had. You will not be disappointed. Plus the guys who own it, are amazing people. Support great food and great people!
