I'm a little torn by the Asian (male) librarian here. He spent all day watching me use an upside down basket to rest my laptop on, and at the end of the day, closing time, he said I can't use the basket in that way. I asked for the reason why, and he didn't know. He just didn't like the look of it? He had all day to come up with a reason to not use the hand basket, a basket that nobody uses in such a small library. There certainly wasn't an issue of scarcity. 10 hand baskets and that was how many people visited this library for the day.
