Schuyler ambulance has a contract to deliver to Schuyler hospital unless you sign off. What Schuyler hospital does is keep you for maybe a day or less, and transports you by ambulance to another hospital with equipment that Schuyler does not have, meaning you will pay double hospital AND ambulance bills. What I would recommend is that unless your emergency is kind of serious, to just go to Arnot in Elmira or Cayuga med in Ithaca. They will not put you in an ambulance and transport you to another hospital. It is very rare they have to do this in other areas. Also, when Schuyler hospital needs to transport, it takes up Schuyler ambulances only crew, therefore meaning you have one less ambulance in the county. You have Hector, Tyrone, And Dundee, but they are all volunteer, and they are way farther than Schuyler, which the whole ambulance thing isn't really the hospital's fault but anyway
