We arrived at the diner at 11pm and stayed until 1am. It seems like we got what we paid for. Nothing complicated. It is a family owned Greek diner that is open 24 hours most days. The food and service were good. Where else can you go in the middle of the night and get that.

A great place for almost any meal at any time of the day. Good specials and friendly staff make this a favorite of Scotch Plains locals. Good when meeting friends or associates for conversation over breakfast or late at night to wrap up the evening. The specials and soups are always a good value. A huge dessert case and delicious coffee make any visit better. I have come to the Scotchwood Diner for many years and it always has satisfied and kept me returning.

The last time my husband and I went here, his sandwich came and the roll had mold on it. They apologized but didn't take any money off the bill. We tried them again. I got the baked macaroni and cheese. It wasn't even warm and it was absolutely horrible. I would rather eat a box of Kraft. This diner used to be so good and has gone downhill!

If you are Hispanic and do not speak English, I do not recommend this place. I ordered an omelet with ham and cheese and the smiling plateau handed me some eggs with ham and cheese. He had to refer me to a waiter who could understand my order, which he did at the end when it was his turn to pay. If you are a person who does not speak fluent English, I do not recommend the place. The food was not bad...
