Outdated, dirty, gross place. Moldy bathroom, shower stall was disgusting, mold on the curtain and the soap holder was crusty and rusty. Stains on the carpet and furniture. Ceiling tiles out of place. We slept on top of the blankets. Whomever gave this place any kind of decent review was doing it to get other people to fall into misery. "Diamond in the rough "...sure, if a lump of coal in a sweaty hobos ass fits that definition. Only decent thing was the lovely old couple running it and all the old neon lights still worked. Needs major work to be decent.

I absolutely don't recommend here to those who are used to pretty good accomodations. 
I already had a bad feeling about the look of the building as well as the cheap price (about $84 for two people). I decided to give it a go still, and I regretted as soon as I stepped inside. There was something odd about the smell, and even though the room was cleaned, it was too old, a bit dusty and didn't look hygienic. The shower booth was metal and rusty. There was no way I could wash myself in there.
I had to keep my eyes half-closed cos every part of the room was unpleasant and made me sick... I insisted we move to a different place next day....
Nonetheless, my bf didn't have a problem, so if you aren't visually and hygienically sensitive, and your top priority is saving money, this could be a good choice. It was actually a popular place and the staff was nice too.

I just wanted to share my experience as the other reviews are very misleading. For $50.00 a night, i didn't have high expectations and wasn't expecting anything "nice" and that was fine as I just wanted a place to sleep. However, upon entering the room I was struck by the thick, pungent, and sickening smell (perhaps mildew and very outdated furnishings). In addition to the terrible smell, there was a layer of dust on everything..words were actually written in the dust. The back window was wide open without a screen, the sheets were stained, and there were large dust bunnies under the beds. I didn't even enter the bathroom. Please beware when staying here. I hate having to leave negative reviews, but I was very mislead when reading the other ones posted! We were issued a refund and will be staying elsewhere.

Don't be fooled by other reviews; this place is a dump, even if you're judging by 1950s standards. I honestly didn't know what I was walking into at $45 a night, but my husband and I needed a place to sleep and just about everything else was booked. Nothing could have prepared me for my stay in room #8. Foul odor the moment you walk into the room, dirty shower stall/curtain, questionable electrical work (the bathroom had a pull chain on its singular light) stains on the lampshades, stains on the carpet.... how they manage to survive any kind of health inspection and stay open is beyond me. We slept on top of the blankets rather than in them because we were so grossed out. It's a shame because it has a great location, the owners were nice, and with some cleaning and updates, it would be a charming little place. But as it stands...MOVE ON. Your back, neck and sanity will thank you.

Nice staff and good room! Nothing too fancy, but it was clean and a good size room. Would definitely come back here again. The price was super cheap too.
