I've been coming here since I was a kid. It was my first time coming back in over 30 years because I moved away. The place looks the same, old and outdated, but that's part of their charm. The booths still look the same. The atmosphere is dark and dingy, but don't let that fool you. The food is still good but was lacking in some flavor. I started off with a glass of sangria which was quite refreshing. I had the albondigas soup to start. It was good but could have used a bit more salt for flavor. I ordered the arroz con pollo and it was dryer than I recall it used to be, however it was still good. The staff were older ladies who were nice and friendly but slower than molasses. The lady took our drink order, but we didn't get our drinks until the ifood cane. Seriously, drinks should not take that long. Prices are extremely reasonable, and it was appreciated, especially now since every other restaurant has jacked up their prices for unnecessary reasons. I will be back and give it another go in hopes that the service and food taste get better ţo the days I remember. Vegetarian options: I suisse you can get a bean and cheese burrito and salad here. Parking: The restaurant is in a small strip center. Parking out front is crowded but there is a lot on the side of the building where you can park. Kid-friendliness: Very casual and a place for families to dine.
Amazing Mexican food seems like one of the more authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. The place is well kept. The service was great very helpful waiters and waitresses. Felt like I couldn’t stop eating with how good the food was. I highly recommend this place!
Had the Chile Relleno, Cheese Enchilada and tamale combo, #16. Great for taking leftovers home.Food: 5/5
This is our new "go to place" for casual Mexican food near La Mirada. The food is good, prices reasonable, service is friendly and good. I understand the original Sr. Campos sold his restaurant to some current employees. The one I spoke with was very friendly and proud of his management. He should be because everyone there works as a team and are obviously happy to be there. This combination makes for a very pleasant meal. Lately we have visited almost weekly and never had a poor experience!
I go to this restaurant often and I NEVER have had the worse customer service from here like I had tonight! Maria which says she is the managerwas our waitress tonight took very long to bring our dinner out and when finished she told us we had to move to another table because she has customers waiting for our table we were going to order a drink but after spending 100.00 bucks and being moved to another table because basically she felt like she wasn't making anymore money from us so she was moving us out ??? We have never been to any restaurant that has done this to us ... So disappointing!! We really like this restaurant alot but I will never sit in her section ever again !!!and if the other ones are like this I will take my business somewhere else.... HORRIBLE!!!! Maria needs to learn customer service skills to be a manager! All I gotta say
It was a busy Friday evening. My friend asked for a refill on her coke. The waitress took her cup. Fifteen minutes later, the waitress returned with 2 cups of soda and gave my friend one. She took a drink and it was Dr Pepper. Hopefully, she got a new cup and straw... Our check was overcharged, too. Took another 20 minutes to get it figured out. Poor people are waiting for a table, too.
We stumbled upon this place and I'm overall pleased with our experience. I tried the chile relleno, tamale, rice and beans, and they didn't disappoint. I wished the chips were a little less crispy, but the salsa was delicious! The service was a bit slow, and it made me chuckle when they brought our meal out on what looked like a service push cart you'd clear dirty dishes away with at a banquet event. The decor can definitely use a facelift although it did channel a 1940's speak easy and the restroom could use a good deep cleaning, especially the floors. In the end I go to restaurants for the food and not the decor, so I certainly won't let that deter me from returning.
The worst experience ever, the food was horrible the wait staff is slow they are not professional. I did not leave a tip the wait staff either needs to get re trained or fired. The decor is more of a Italian restaurant style and needs to be revamped. I am so disappointed everyone said the food was good it's not.Food: 1/5
My aunt has been going here for many, many years and whenever I visit her this is where we have dinner. I love it , Margaritas & yummy food!Food: 5/5
My cheese enchilada plate qas awesome! Nice and hot plate. However, the sauces are not spicy as it should be for a traditional Mexican meals! In. My. Opinion!!!Food: 5/5
