I bought a lawn mower two years ago and an eclip on the wheel axle broke while mowing.  Thankfully, Sears was open and willing to let me look through their spare parts for another eclip.  We couldn't find one, so they took one off a showroom mower!  How awesome to have a great service and accommodating business like this!!  Thank you to Sears for keeping this place open amidst the company financial woes.

A friend of mine bought a lawnmower from sears in menomonie 2 weeks ago. They went to go mow their lawn last Saturday, there was no oil in the mower so he added oil into the oil pan until the second hole like the owners manual said and added gas. Went to go the first push and the engine blew a rod through the engine. Sears in menomonie had their service guy look at their mower and demmed that they had poured the oil into the gas, not only was I there but at least 5 other individuals who were there including a licensed mechanic so I know the oil was not poured into the gas tank. Sears in menomonie charged them $50 because they looked at the mower only being 2 weeks old and would not refund them their money. Sears in menomonie gave them the option of paying $50 & paying for a new motor & install OR paying $50 and picking out a different lawn mower and paying the difference. They called sears corporate who stated that the lawn mower should be replaced 100%. The request was sent into menomonie sears to replace the unit but was denied. They called corporate again and corporate stated they could not do anything else due to the sears in menomonie being privately owned and operated. My friend called briggs & stratton warrenty line and they stated that sears should not have charged them anything to diagnose the mower and sears should be replacing the unit since it was within 30 days, but since they are privately owned the sears in menomonie is not associated with corporate. Both my friends went to pay the $50 and exchange, they were telling another associate about the unhappy experience they had had so far, the manager then told them to get out of the store if they were going to make a scene in front of customers. My friend made a post on facebook about their experience as well and the store manager made them take it down before proceeding with any exchange. Will never buy or recommend again.
