We had an overall positive experience as tenants for almost 4 years. The online portal is very easy to use for maintenance requests which are responded to promptly for the most part. Travis answers the phone almost 100% of the time and if not he'll call you back promptly. We happened to live in an older house that had many issues (in exchange for affordable rent), and they never made us feel like we were being a bother when we had to request maintenance. They were willing to communicate and were fair with us when we needed to change terms at lease-renewal time. We stuck to our end of the lease terms and so did they. They didn't go after our security deposit which can be a huge problem for some tenant/landlord situations.

I'm unable to recommend this company. Select Homes was unreasonable to deal with and cost me a lot as a tenant. I lost my job and had to break my lease,  and Select Homes took it upon themselves to kill my deposit for that, even though I gave timely notice and moved out as quickly as I could. I guess their motto is to kick you while you're down. I couldn't even figure out from their lease that they would do that. Plus,  they weren't great managers to deal with while I lived at the property in any event. I really recommend any property manager except this one.

I urge prospective tenants to avoid Select Homes at all costs.  Select Homes is aggressively anti-tenant, and employed sharp practices to chisel me.  I had to move away before the end of my lease, and Select Homes charged me thousands in unjustified security deposit charges.  For example, they charged me over a thousand in commissions they claim to have lost, yet they did not disclose these in their lease.  I would encourage a prospective tenant to seek another property manager, as this has been my worst experience renting ever.

Travis, owner of Select Homes, is quick to respond, very knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy.  I had a previous management company that couldn't rent my condo in 2 MONTHS!  I went to Travis and he rented it out in 1 week to quality tenants!  Overall I feel very comfortable with Travis managing my property.

As a renter/tenant, I really appreciate Travis Black as the property manager.  He is more than fair, quick to respond and friendly.  I am now moving into my 2nd property arranged by him.
