If you want your loved one dead then this is the place to send them! I couldn't make it there everyday due to money constraints and work but I made it there at least 3 times a week. I would call nightly and ask if there was any changes and they always said NO, even when he would start running a fever, or when he got sepsis and pneumonia, They said mine was READY to be transferred to the nursing home. He had sepsis, and pneumonia at the time. He was at the nursing home for a half hour before they said he needed to be transported to the hospital. He ended up dying. Great Job Select!

Absolutely the worse place you could ever put your loved one. Toured the facility before my dad came here and everything that I was told was lies. Due to his condition there are very limited choices but I sure wished their were more. Apart from a couple of very nice staff, unfortunately the majority are not.... rude, arrogant and basically do only what they want to do when they want to do it. When the staff is confronted about what they haven't done.... there is always an excuse. Even after having a meeting with the CEO and heads of departments about specific concerns, they are still going on. The concerns range from direct doctors orders potentially putting my dad at direct harm to his hygiene level while in here to even the time it takes when you press the call button (30 mins to respond). This is not acceptable for any person to be treated this way.

Great place to be cared for! Everyone was pleasant and the facility was most certainly clean. It’s horrifying seeing some of the reviews and what is said about the people at Select Medical; I assure you this facility is much better then what is being portrayed. I highly recommend this hospital.

My sister who has had a serious issue with COPD stayed with select Specialty in Battle Creek for a month. I was very happy with the care my sister received as she has suffered with COPD for quite some time. Her nurses and nurse helpers were attentive to her needs and patient with our questions. Her Dr’s were very good about keeping myself and my sister aware of what was going on and what needed to be done to get better. The respiratory people were very good with her as well, she did not like what they had to do but they were very gentle and caring with their treatments. The CEO even came up to visit patients and families a couple times during her stay and that was nice to see that these days. I have read some of these reviews and I can tell you this during my sister’s time there I did not see any of this, I only saw a place that should she or even I or anyone I know falls ill enough to need their care I would hands down suggest Select Specialty in Battle Creek, MI! THANK YOU.

Do not, for any reason,choose Select Specialty Hospital for you or your loved ones. The facility is filthy, the employees are incompetent and rude and every aspect of their care is way below standard. My Mother contracted MRSA from their facility because no one ever follows protocol. It became septic and her artificial heart valves became infected. The critical care doctors who are contracted to work there are rarely ever seen and failed us. They simply couldn't be bothered to do a thorough job and because of this we had absolutely no idea her valves were infected until the day before she died. The vegetation on her heart grew to be so extensive that it killed her. Whenever we had a question, we were down right mocked for it by the nursing staff. And any information we were given was typically uninformed. They would go HOURS before cleaning my mother or completely ignore her calls entirely. This "hospital" killed my Mother and made the last two months of her life miserable. And my story is not singular. While there others experienced the same though I believe their family members were fortunate enough to live. DO NOT go here. DO NOT leave your loved ones here. This place is a terrible excuse for a medical facility and needs to be closed.
