This review is *only* my experience with Dr Jeralyn Terry. The staff and other doctors I've met there have mostly been great. However, I have had the worst experience with Dr Terry. I brought my dog in to see her two days ago. THe dog was *screaming* in pain whenever he ate something. Couldn't tell if it was chewing, swallowing, or whatever that caused it. He'd start eating, then suddenly SCREAM. Dr Terry did the usual exam, decided best course was to send him home with a pain med that required a syringe going into his mouth. THe same mouth that was causing him pain. But okay. We tried. FAiled. Dog did not want syringe in his mouth. THe next course of action as prescribed was xrays. After 2k worth of testing, Dr TErry tells me she has no idea what the issue is, but her solution was to...send him home with the same meds he couldn't take the other day and as she said to me "we'll just have to see how it plays out." I was shocked. My dog couldn't eat, could not drink water. No next steps. No further tests. Just a shrug and we'll see how it plays out. Dr Terry's callousness and lack of compassion was pretty gross and remarkabley unprofessional. I told her directly I didn't trust her with my animal's care at all and promptly looked for a new vet. My overall experience with Sequoia was fine. Dr Terry, however, was the worst exchange and vet experience I believe I've ever had. It almost seems as though she doens't even *like* animals.
This place definitely prioritizes profits over care and will make you feel as such. Cannot answer any questions, no matter how minor, without pet being brought in and charging you the $100-$150 for being seen. No explanation of what's being done until its already done and you'll find out what the price is later. Definitely Buyer beware
Highly recommend! They've always taken good care of Kona and Boulder. Staff is extremely competent and friendly.
Called for an emergency & they ask me whats going on & how can they help. I gave them my whole explanation on what’s going on & basically kick me to the curb saying they can’t help me because of lack of doctors & for not being a client. Why not start with that in the beginning. The lady also said “ you’re going to keep on looking because I don’t know of any places.” This was just such a rude encounter.
Called to enquire about get my dogs Chip Verified. The receptionist dismissed me, told me to shop around before I'd even had chance to tell her why I was calling. Quite possibly the rudest encounter I've ever experienced over the phone.,
These lovely folks take care of my son Samurai. My dog has been pretty low maintenance but he recently had to have teeth pulled. The staff and doctor took great care of him. They are also very honest about the costs and procedures and treatments and I don't feel like I am being robbed or tricked like other big name vet hospitals tend to do. They did a great job. Also their wait times are great and I like they are open a little bit later so I can make appts after work. Thank you Sequoia Veterinary Staff!
DETAIL ORIENTED - doctors and staff. One of our cats has a variety of issues and a long history with another vet. The staff at Sequoia has done a good job getting up to speed on his case and have developed a good treatment plan.
Everyone at this office is pleasant and wonderful to work with. Dr. Owen is by far the most thorough vet we’ve ever worked with. She’s patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. She won’t suggests things that we don’t need like many vets do. My husband and I highly recommend Sequoia and Dr Owen. We are so grateful of their service. Keep up the good work.
I had an appt with Sequoia. My cat had a gaping hole in her neck from her scratching it over and over again. I didn’t realize there were two Sequoia’s in my area. I went to one…. Not the other. I needed up being late. My cat mind you , had a hole I could stick my finger in to the muscle. They refused to see us on the account I was late. No exceptions. They don’t really care about the animal. They care about their money, their lunch breaks and getting off on time. They made me leave with a hole in her neck. I was so upset I gave them some choice words and now I’m permanently banned from all Sequoias. Class act. Real care here folks. Lol go elsewhere.
Awesome staff & doctors. Been going here for over 20 years. My vet doesn’t try to up-sell me on everything. New location.
