A LOOK INTO OUR WEEK
Seventh-day Adventists find a special blessing in the time between sundown Friday night, and sundown Saturday night. On Friday nights at 7:30, there is an informal gathering that includes elements such as singing, watching a video, discussion of Bible topics, and prayer. Saturday morning services begin with a 9:30 Bible study time known as Sabbath School. There are separate classes for adults, and for children of all ages. The Worship Service begins at 11:00 and is followed by a weekly fellowship meal. Did I mention that we have good food? Sabbath afternoon, people will be found doing a variety of things ranging from small group Bible Study, to visiting sick people, doing outreach projects, taking a hike in the local mountains, or just hanging around in the fellowship hall and talking with friends, while Delilah (yeah, that's really her name) strums her ukulele.
On Wednesday mornings, a group of our senior ladies meets to make quilts that provide warmth for members or the needy. This "Community Services" group raises funds, and through a global church network, they help provide relief for emergency and disaster situations around the world. In the process they have fellowship, and receive the satisfaction of helping someone else along the way. Locally, they provide food and clothes for people who are in need.
ABOUT SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS
Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.
Provide a place where anyone may meet and experience Jesus. Our mission is to provide outreach and nurture which is relevant to the diverse American culture of southern California in the 21st century.
