More than 17,000 letters, invoices and receipts provide information on the daily life of people in the 19th century New Iberia as the sugar industry developed. Collections in period rooms also illustrate the life of a sugar cane growing family on Louisiana's frontier. 2 1/2 acres of gardens depict a southern garden of the 1920s-1940s.
