The cabins are quaint, clean and comfortable, the staff are kind and helpful - Shady Shore Resort is now one of the first places that comes to mind when I imagine relaxation and comfort. There is a history and security to this place that goes beyond the woods and the water, there is a depth and warmth that wraps you like a blanket. The fishing is great and the shallow sand beaches are perfect for the kids. Thank you for making this place such an inviting and rejuvenating experience!

Shady Shore is an outstanding place for a vacation-- I highly recommend it. The cabins and grounds are meticulously kept while the resort retains the restful, homey atmosphere of the best family-run places. The Jorgensons (owners) welcome guests with a simplicity and heart-felt hospitality that made my family feel right at home. My husband and infant son and I shared a cabin with friends who also have a young child and the intimate scale of the resort made it possible for us to put the kids down and relax on the beach or by the fireside in range of the monitor. It was like having a peaceful, lakeside backyard (without dirty laundry and pesky emails waiting inside!) We've found the rates to be very reasonable. We're looking forward to scheduling some time for a good old-fashioned family vacation with aunts, uncles and cousins in the near future. This is the kind of place that could easily become one of our family traditions.

Shady Shore Resort in Northern Minnesota is a treasure !!!! It is a small, family- owned and run resort with lots of charm. Cabins are clean, unique and have delightful themes related to the northwoods of Minnesota. The cabins are AT the lake. I mean, you walk out of your cabin and a few steps away is beautiful, clear Moose Lake. And speaking of the lake ...WOW...it is very clean and has a sandy beach that gets deep VERY slowly. Paddleboats and fishing boats are available and the fishing is tremendous. (Did you see the picture posted on the web site of the 29" walleye caught this summer?) Coming to Shady Shore is kind of like a step back in time. You feel so relaxed and calm in this wonderful treasure of nature, you forget the stress of the busy world we live in.
