SRPD strives to insure that children have the opportunity to experience what it is like to participate in Shafter athletics and learn the rewards of playing. Provides a vehicle to teach sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and of course, sport skills. Kids today are part of a continuum of young people who constantly refresh the game, bringing the enthusiasm of discovery to a game that keeps people who stay involved with it forever young.
The goal of the Shafter Recreation and Park District is to provide a well-rounded, wholesome program of leisure time activities for the people residing in the District through the acquisition and development of Park recreation center areas and facilities adequate to meet the present and future needs through the development of supervised programs to meet community needs; and through the employment of a first class professional staff.
